Editorial Review for Appetito Ristorante – by Julia Israel
In Short
Since its opening, this eatery has fed midtown diners craving the delicacies of northern Italy. Patrons seeking pasta feast on the chef's specialty: homemade gnocchi made with fresh pesto. The restaurant also offers a full bar and a range of choices for carnivores including four variations on veal scaloppine. Of course, the menu isn't the only attraction here. On Friday nights, opera singers join a pianist for an evening of Italian arias.

I've been dining here for ten plus years and have NEVER been disappointed -- business lunches and family dinners alike are always great. The food is teriffic with a great selection of daily specials. Prices are reasonable for a midtown Manhattan location. The staff is friendly and accommodating. If you don't see something you like on the menu (not very likely), ask your waiter. The owner (Walter) takes pride in what he has created. Don't be afraid to ask him about some special wines he keeps in stock. If you're in the mood for a steak, don't be afraid to try it here just because it's an italian restaurant -- some of the best steaks in New York are seerved here. Try it-----------you'll love it!
Pros: All great at Appetito
Cons: Not open on Saturdays and Sundays
