Incredible Service
by NorthernGirl at Citysearch
Arno was one of the best restaurants I have experienced! From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like to royalty.
Arno has the best Calamari I have ever had in my life. So fresh and tasty and the sauce it is served with is second to none. Dinner is served promptly and there is never any waiting for someone to fill your water or get you another drink.
Our server was Desi and he was incredible. He made great suggestions for us and we are so glad he did.
The ambiance is very romantic and something you won't soon forget if you dine at Arno!
Cheer's to Arnie!
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: None!

Arno Restaurant like the Arno River is classically Italian. The ambiance of dark wood and large mirrors reminds you of Tuscany. Interestingly enough Tuscany is famous for its beef and there is very little beef on Arno’s menu.
What Arno does have is someone who knows fish and seafood. Its Calamari was freshly done, fried Calamari that sits becomes greasy and rubbery, and the sauce was nicely piccante, just a little heat. Avoid the Mozzarella and Basil it was very plain Jane.
There are daily specials and we got Bass with a butter, cream and caper sauce that was truly good. Bass is not often found in NYC restaurants, being a inland fresh water fish and when done right is delicious and this was superb.
If you have to die a martyr’s death consider Arno’s desserts as a reasonable reward their white chocolate cake with strawberries is to die for and their ordinary chocolate moose is far from ordinary.
The service is excellent, but the dinner can be pricey at $ 180 for two with tip.

POOR

There are better places in this great country to eat, I expect to come to New York and grab great food. This was not one of those places! The price is a little high on some menu items, Pasta in the 18-20 buck range! The past that was order took no longer then 5 Minutes to arrive at the table at the most. That tells you something that it was not freshly made. The pasta was very rubbery and tasted like it came from a mircowave!! The dessert is on a roller cart that has been sitting out all day, once again sitting out and not cooled. Overall this place is a place I will never will go to again!
THE BEST Veal I have ever had in my life !!!!!
by BobLucey at Citysearch
I have dined in some of the best restaurants in the world and this is THE best ! The atmosphere was Romantic if you wanted, Cordial if you wanted, Business if you wanted, but just plain enjoyable which ever way.
The staff was polite, patient, helpful, friendly, and very informative.
We went to a broadway play ( August Old Sage County ) which was the best I've ever seen and then had the pleasure of eating at the overall best restaurant I've ever eaten at.
The Veal was Heaven, the Baked Ravioli was a masterpiece, and the Teramisu was Great !
They also make a top notch coctail !!
We are from Connecticut and my only regret is that I can't go there 2-3 times a month to eat. We definately will be back.
Thank You to the staff for a great evening and COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF !!!!!!!!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, food, staff.
- Cons: A little off the beaten path but worth it.
Good food and service but expensive
by ek153 at Citysearch
I ate here on a weeknight and there were a good number of people but it was by no means crowded. The service was great and many friendly waiters checked on us frequently. The food was also good (we had seafood and pasta), but it was about what I expected for the price (about $30 for an entree). The menu was varied and they had a number of specials. The house wine was also very good quality for the money. While nothing went wrong at all with the experience, I gave this 4 stars rather than 5 simply because I've had comparable food for less money. I'd go back on a special occasion but probably not for everyday dinners.
- Pros: Good service, ambiance, food
- Cons: Expensive next to other comparable food
