Birthday Party Fun.
It was my girlfriend’s birthday and every year we go bowling, but never to Leisure Time Bowl. As we walked in the place it was a little busy: did not have to wait long for a lane. Even though we are not good bowlers we always have fun when the service is great.
This is exactly what happened.!!! We ended up with a bottle of vodka and a few bottles of wine. WOW did we celebrate!
In addition to the great service and experience the ladies bathroom is really nice!
Pleasant Surprise. Who would have known that in the fast pace, crazy and stressful atmosphere that is Port Authority, there would be an awesome place to kick back have some drinks and have a whole lot of fun. One of my friends told me about Leisure Time Bowl and I decided to give it a try yesterday. I had been to other places around the city and was never that impressed. As soon as I walked in I was greated by the bar tenders, staff and managers (a rarity in new york). The lounge like lighting, the music that mimicked the top 40's billboard chart and the crashing of pins got me siked and made me remember how much I enjoy bowling. Overall the experience was incredible. The service was friendly and very helpful when we had trouble putting our names in the computer. My friends tried some of the cocktails, I stuck to the beer and none of it was heavy on the wallet. For NYC its definitley affordable fun. We were only going to play one game but we were having so much fun we stuck around for three more. When I go back I definitley want to try more food (the crab cake sliders were amazing)and see if my friends and I can tackle a tower o' beer. Yes, as far as bowling goes... I think I have hit the mother load!
NEVER EVER GOING BACK!. Yesterday, Sunday, we were getting together for a birthday celebration for 8 people. Reservations were made on Saturday. Took the bowling/dinner package. When we arrived, we told Eric Brodie, the manager that 4 people were ill and we only needed one bowling lane and then we'd go to dinner. When we sat down, we were given menus for the $29.95 Celebrate Chef and were told we could only have an entree, not the appetizer and entree since they changed the menu two days before and raised the price to $34.00. He never mentioned this when we told him of the change. Only then he said that the event had been pre-paid, no refund, no credit. That amount for 8 people was for $340 including an 18% gratuity!! He offered nothing else and we told him that we would then take the 8 dinners with us. Why stay when we were so shabbily treated? There were not many people bowling and we were the only ones in the dining room for dinner. I've never seen such poor management. In this economy, one would think that they would want a return business. Apparently not. What snobbery! It left a very bad taste in our mouth and it ruined what could have been a wonderful birthday celebration. I will tell everyone that I know that there are better places to bowl and have dinner. If I could give NO STARS, I would.
An all-around good time!. I called LTB last week to reserve a lane for myself and 4 friends, and they asked me if I was interested in trying their Celebrate Chef package. $29.95 a person for an appetizer and entree in their new bistro, plus an hour of bowling and shoes. Hell yeah I was interested! You can opt to bowl first or eat first, but we were coming straight from work and we were hungry. They give you 4 appetizer options and 4 entree options from the regular dinner menu - drinks are extra, but they're definitely reasonably priced. The bistro is a little separated from the lanes, which is nice, and the food came out quickly so we had plenty of time to eat before bowling. Once we got started bowling, we had a friendly server on our lane...and we couldn't help but take advantage of a beer tower! 12 drafts for the price of 10, at $55 for a domestic draft tower, and $65 for imports. The DJ was blasting great music, and we made friends with the guys in the next lane. A great and affordable night out!!!
Thank you for the great feedback!!! We are SO Glad that you had a great time!. Come back and visit us sometime soon!
Beyond Bowling. Great bowling place. Atmosphere is very nice almost nightclub/lounge like with decent music. The beer towers are very affordable. A good fun experience.
Thank you for the kind feedback! We hope to see you again sometime soon!
Best Bowling EVER!!!. Went to an "after work bowling" event and had the MOST AMAZING time ever!! Everyone was so nice, the food was delicious! Never expected to have such a great time bowling, but the venue made it a memorable experience!! Can't wait to go back!
st. patty's day FUN!. i came here with friends on st. patrick's day because i heard word on the street that lane reservations were half price! we came in, bowled and drank, and had a great time! our server was extremely attentive, but the food was only subpar. one of the managers who came to our lanes told us that they're opening a restaurant soon so we absolutely plan on coming back when it does!
birthday party fun!. i came here for a birthday party and had a great time! the right price for bowling food and beer... plus at the end of the night we stayed at the bar and ordered more drinks. fun atmosphere on the weekends and love the free coat check!
Bowling in the Port Authority?!!!!.
This is now officially my favorite bowling alley in the city!!!! Bowlmors service is not the finest .. and Lucky Strike is a bit too pretentious for my taste!!!!
Beer towers and bowling are a perfect combination!!! and after a night of drinking i can just hop right on a bus home to NJ! I'm thinking i might have my birthday here ... it'll be so much fun!!!
A great place for children...but even better for adults.
I had my God Daughters 9th birthday party. The kids has a great time. We had children as young as 3 years old. And the ball selection was great with Hello Kitty and Disney Princess Balls.
But the best part was how much fun the adults had. The staff pretty much did everything for us. We began drinking with pitchers of Sangria and had the best chicken fingers then after our party time was up we sent the kids home with the fathers of the group and ended up staying for a "Girls Night Out" all night! THough we left around 11pm, I was told they were open until 3am!
Needless to say we went way past Sangria... To Patron Margarita... They were great! And happily I ended up taking a NJ transit bus back to Fort Lee... I hadn't driven in, and it was so simple to hop on the bus.
Thanks Leisure Time for a great night out.
