By Far the BEST Cohen's. I came in to this Cohen's because they take my insurance (blue cross -blue shield which the very nice lady told me was "eyemed") . At first I was skeptical since the overall reviews for most Cohen's are not very good . I specifically chose this location for my eye exam since I work between 5th and 6th on 59 street and this place is on 57th and 6th. Anyway I made the appointment on line and I only waited about 10 minutes for the exam which I think is pretty standard considering they looked pretty busy.The exam was very thorough and the doctor addressed my concerns. Isabel helped me pick out my glasses. She was very sweet and very very honest. I felt confident since she was so informative with my lens options and made it a point to get to know me personally. The entire process took less than an hour and I was told my glasses would be ready in an hour! Sweet deal! I now have new glasses with a PERFECT prescription. By the way, this Cohen's location has the best selection of glasses I have ever seen.

Idiots. i read the reviews and went anyway. So 5 yrs ago i found frames i loved and they were a new model by Gucci. I saw them in the store, tried them on and loved them, but they were $450 dollars. I went home, shopped them out online, printed everything out and went back to the Cohens in the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore. They didn't price match but they knocked $150 off. I had a good exam, and was very happy with my second free pair (which i'm now wearing). The glasses eventually broke like all glasses do, but now i live here in the city and work around the corner from this Cohens. so i looked up my glasses again online and because it's 5yrs later their now $169! Very pleased i figured i could get them at Cohens again for maybe $250 this time. This is where it gets ugly. Oh no i was told, they are $450. So i explained exactly what i paid and what i did last time and was told there was absolutely no way they could be discounted. Come'on. 5yrs later, I do all the work. I know your a commission based employee so i made it easy, i'm a quick buck, but i was told there was no way they could bring the price down. so to heck with em. I'm ordering them online tonight for $169 with free shipping. I would say the staff was terrible, but with how easy i made it, and the fact i know they can make that deal, these people are just stupid.

Long wait, short exam, price-match not a real price-match. Made me wait for an examination even though I had an appointment. The actual eye exam took all of 10 minutes, at the end of which I predictably ended up with the same prescription as I had before. I had been told over the phone that Cohen's had an examination and lens package special and they would also "price match". In store, sales staff advised that Cohen's only price matched to one particular vendor and not to certain online vendors because they were "too cheap". Staff denied knowledge of any examination and lens package. If your experience is like mine, you will get a bait-n-switch sales routine. I highly recommend avoiding the awful sales experience altogether.

Good all around. I have been going to Cohen's for a few years now and have always received good service. The got me into my transitions lenses and it was a ROUGH transition but they were very helpful. I highly reccomend Cohen's to my hotel guests as well!

Subpar Eye Doctor and Service. Eye doctor there seems to just rush through the exam and then gets bothered if too many questions are asked. I now have to go to another doctor to get my prescription done the right way because I found out the glasses I ordered were incorrectly made.

Inconsistent front desk service. The guy at the front desk service is fine but then there is this woman who is rude and dismissive.

Save time and money, go to a real doctor in town.

Avoid this place altogether!. This Cohen Optical is an unfriendly, unfair business. I had a horrible experience there. The incompetent women who tend to the front of the store are slow and their attitude stinks. They gave me only half the contacts I paid for. I had to call repeatedly to get them to address the issue. Finally after a rude clerk hung up on me, I got a hold of the manager who apologized and promised to order me two more boxes. Of course that didn?t happen, and two weeks later with no news from Cohen?s, I had to chase them down again and demand my order, which it turns out after the manager?s ?promise? had never actually been placed. Several weeks later I now have the contacts, and I can assure you they were extremely rude when I arrived to pick them up. I will NEVER enter a Cohen?s Optical again. Do yourself a favor and tend to your eyes elsewhere!

Great Store with good people. I went into this store to pick up a pair of replacement glasses, the associates were friendly and helpful, they had some great deals and lens options, I couldn't ask for a more pleasant shopping experience!

Good customer service. I had some problems with the type of lenses they gave me and they changed them till I had the right one. The manager didn't have a problem with giving me store credit for the difference. One employee was the opposite of nice about it though.
