“would defintiely bring any friend back here for a wonderful, cozy meal!”
“We started with Lobster Bisque and Louisiana Seafood Gumbo, which were excellent, followed by our entrees, a Petit Filet and a NY Strip which were cooked to perfection and accompanied by sweet potato Casserole which could have been presented as a dessert ”
“Great wine selection, good desert, but the friendly service would warrant another trip.”
“really like this place and will return for great steaks.”

“If you are looking for a truly great steak, do not pass up this restaurant.”

“great food, sub-par service”
“We had one of the worst meals we have ever paid for in NYC, particularly considering the price for such mediocrity.”
“The service was pretty good and quick.”
Amazing service my first time there. They accommodated me in my wheelchair at the door with no problem. The food was fresh and hot. Perfect seasonings on everything I ordered and the overall feel was very personal and comfortable. 5 stars
Quite the Perfect Evening. I recently had some girlfriends in the city for a fun holiday shopping/girls weekend. We ate at Ruth's Chris following a Saturday matinee and had a lovely time. The hostess that greeted us at the door was just lovely and she showed us to our prepared table immediately. Our server was very friendly, attentive and able to help us with our menu selections (we have a few picky eaters in the bunch). We had some fabulous cocktails and wine from the extensive menu and enjoyed our food- everything cooked perfectly to our specification! I would defintiely bring any friend back here for a wonderful, cozy meal!
Best Food EVER!!!!!. Absolutely the best meal i have ever had. My first time there I proposed to my finacee and she loved it as well. Hands down the best restaurant i have ever been to. A must eat at place
Wow... I am preplexed by these reviews..... I have eaten at so many steak houses all over the country and beyond, and I always rely on ruth's to be on the money - I can not believe these reviews... first of all people are making like it is so expensive - stop and think.... how much does it cost when you go to applebees? Maybe it is just me but our bill for two with tip is always close to 50 bucks and we don't drink.... so... for the $100 bucks (without drinks again) that you would spend at Ruth's Chris - you wouldn't agree that it is worth it? It is not 2 times better - it is a million times better. They have football sized filets cooked to perfection.... Perhaps it has been a while since I have been to this location - the last one I went to was the one in Long Island on Valentine's, maybe the city one is too 'city' - give the one in Long Island a try - or Jersey - they are usually on point - service, food, experience.
Worst Steakhouse. The Ambiance and the service was fine. BUT it was one of the worst steak I had in New York. I would expect at least some decent meat with the price I paid. The onion soup we had was also too thick and sweet.
It was not what I EXPECTED. I've been to many steak places and from all the hype this place has received I was expecting an out of this world experience. Needless to say it was not what I expected. The drinks and sides were delicious but the main entree left more to be desired. The steak although not bad, was not great either. It's a steak which I've tasted at much cheaper places. The environment was nice, not too noisy but not too loud either. The staff knew the menu very well and was very friendly. Overall it was a good experience but not a place I would go out of my way to dine at again.
Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides..
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
great steaks. i was surprised when my husband took me here for a surprise dinner. He just got a promotion at work. the staff was great, the steak was amazing and even the wine was handled with care! we got a $24 bottle and they made it feel like a $200 bottle. made us feel special. the whole night was relaxing and they didn't rush us out like some other places. i really like this place and will return for great steaks.
Hits the spot. My friends and I came here last summer for Restaurant Week and one more time since then, because we absolutely adore this place (for the food of course). Great ambiance, professional wait staff, delicious filet mignion and mashed potatoes YUMM, and prompt service. We made reservations a week before and were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us promptly. The bread basket and appetizers came out in a matter of minutes and the steaks were divine! even though they were slathered with a ton of butter. Everything was perfect, although I must say they should expand their wait staff to include female waitresses because it felt like they were employing sexist hiring policies...I don't know, it could just be me. Other than that, I enjoyed my steak dinner. And I agree with other reviewers; it's a bit pricey and there are other places in NYC that are more worthy but personally I would recommend Rith Chris'. Happy dining!
500 Degrees. No doubt, this place had the hottest plates in a steakhouse this side of the Allegheny. 500 degree plates for everything! If you love hot plates like I love hot plates, you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere and good looking guys. Only cons would be slightly pricey and the dessert plates were well under 500.
