“My parents who frequent NYC stayed there recently and said it was by far the best location and deal for the buck that NYC has to offer.”
“The maids woke us up every morning with their yelling in the hallway, and the room service was AWFUL.”
“The staff were great, the rooms were huge and we felt proud to be staying at the Hilton!”
“Service is slow just due to the size of the hotel.”
the best hilton in the city.
i would say that this is the best hilton in the city.
there are many nice agents at the hotel, a club lounge for diamond-vip members, etc.
b/c the hotel is between two skyscrapers, u wont have much of the view, even in the best suites of the hotel. there are multiple suite rooms, but be careful- some are renovated, and some are not. if u just see the renovated portions of the hotel, u will think that the hotel is brand new, but the non-renovated rooms are dusty, has old furniture, with small old TV's. most of the suites aren't renovated. the only ones that were renovated were the penthouse suite(cool 5bdrm suite with private elevator on the top floor), presidential (doesnt really feel like a presidential), empire suite (really cool suite, but not in the best location) and the state suite. every other suite (that's most of the suites) arent as clean, and when u book guestroom, be sure to book the deluxe- yes, there is a huuuuuuuuuuuge difference in the room for such small difference in price
A Vegas-scaled behemoth occupies an entire city block.. One of Manhattan's largest hotel has a sleek metal and stone facade, a reconfigured lobby with a seven-foot-tall bronze sculpture and new dining and lounge areas. With more than 2,000 rooms, the colossus occupies an entire city block. It seem have it all, from an in-house jeweler, to a business center with secretarial services and a ticketing center for theaters and sightseeing. Guest rooms are spacious, particularly on the special executive floors, which come with private check-in, concierge services and complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and hors d'oeuvres. On the premises there are two bars and the restaurant Erusca as well as an open-air New York Marketplace.
Excellent. I stayed at this hotel for a few days in New York and it was wonderful. It is centrally located, and is convenient to everything in Manhattan. The rooms were wonderful and extremely luxurious, despite the negative sayings of the other users of Citysearch. It is the largest hotel in New York and has some of the largest rooms of any hotel in New York. I definitely recommend it.
PERFECT 10!. We took a siblings weekend trip to NYC and couldn't have asked for a nicer, more convenient hotel. The staff were great, the rooms were huge and we felt proud to be staying at the Hilton! Highly recommend!!
Great Find. I stayed here for a week with my boyfriend and we loved it. We were close to everything in Manhattan, so this location is perfect. The service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We got a great deal on Priceline.
Hilton NY is Exactly what it is.... I stay at the Hilton NY when my work hours cause me to stay at the office until midnight or later. Aside from the convenient location, the hotel offers wireless internet access and a good fitness center. There is no pool, but they do have a steam room and sauna. It does get a bit spendy at times, but hey its NYC! The most recent time I was there they had brand new bedding. The pillows, sheets, and mattress are among the most comfy I have ever experienced. A big place...good choice for business travellers.
Great deal & location. I have to defend the hotel after reading other reviews. We stay at luxurious hotels frequently but wanted an inexpensive weekend trip to NYC for our 10 year anniversary last October. Though this hotel didn't have the frills like many 4-star+ locations do, it was a FABULOUS deal for NYC and the location we had. We paid $100/night through priceline. I assume most of the reviewers have never stayed elsewhere in NYC or they would realize that despite the small rooms, they are MUCH larger than most NYC hotel rooms that cost signifcantly more. My parents who frequent NYC stayed there recently and said it was by far the best location and deal for the buck that NYC has to offer. If you require an elaborate hotel room in NYC, don't stay here, but also don't expect such cheap rates and such a great location! Compare to other NYC hotels.
Good Value on Priceline. I'm not sure what they get directly for this hotel, but I got it for $100/night on Priceline. For that money, this place is certainly worth it. The rooms are a bit small, but the place is clean and the bathrooms are nice. If you're paying retail, I'm sure you can find better, but for $100, you can't go wrong.
Too big. Overall a nice hotel just too big for our taste. We paid a little more to be on the "executive level" because we like the idea of free breakfast in the executive lounge. Only problem is 8 floors, 50 rooms each, have access to the lounge. If you don't go early don't bother. Service is slow just due to the size of the hotel. Food was just average.
THIS IS NOT 4 STAR. My first vacation to NY I satyed at this hotel. I figured Hilton has a great Rep & this was supposed to be 4 star. I smoke, so my room was on the smoking floor of course. I asked for 2 double beds, but they were more like twin sized. The spreads had burn holes in them, the towels were ROUGH, it looked like Motel 8 (no offense). It was just a basic room, no thrills for the price you pay. The staff never checked on us at all! I heard the suites were great ($3500 night).
