The Scene
The name means "my little nest," and it's appropriate: the setting is cozy, with a small bar area in the front and tables in the back. Paintings and arty sconces spruce up the amber walls a bit, but by and large the decor is minimal. Service is quick and warm, though occasionally harried. The clientele is businesslike at lunch, and more neighborhoody at dinner.

The Food
Mi Nidito's menu offers a considerable array of Mexican standards, with a separate page for seafood, such as King crab enchiladas, and another for vegetarian dishes such as almond-sauteed vegetables. Everything tastes super fresh: vegetable quesadilla, thick with fresh spinach, mushrooms and cheese, arrives with homemade guacamole; ribeye fajitas are nicely charred; and chimichanga filled with shrimp, scallops and lobster is rich as can be. The sopaipillas--honey-drenched pastry pillows served with housemade mango ice cream--are a treat.

I have been a customer at Mi Nadito for over 10 years now and when I'm in the City, it is my "go to" restaurant! Tucked away along 8th avenue, it is one of Hell's Kitchen's little treasures. Always serving up the freshest food and pouring the best margaritas in town - do yourself a favor and head over there tonight. And ask for PK, you'll be happy ya did!

The margaritas whether on the rocks or frozen RULE!!! The food is also great. I first came here with a friend who knows the owner. The prices are pretty (NYC standard) the food and portions are great. If you come around happy hour, it is loud and extremely crowded, but the prices are great.

I went today feb 23 for lunch. I was at the bar. The food was fast, and the bartender Antonio was very nice and friendly. I had the burrito lunch special served with rice and beans and a little salad, there was a free bean soup which was Ok, and free soda. He brought me nachos and salsa -the salsa was very tasty. The prices are great for the amount of food. I tried the strawberry margarita and was very good. I will definitely bring my friends here for a girls night out to get some margaritas. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

What to Drink:

The bar offers over 25 flavors of frozen margaritas, ranging from cappuccino to mai tai. Raspberry and strawberry, made with fresh fruit purees, are the best, though all are overly sweet. An assortment of more traditional margaritas is also available, as well as a tasty sangria.
