Great Dominican Experience.
First, the address is wrong on the site, it's on 346 W 53rd.
We went after a Broadway show and were the only customers there, but the restaurant was still lively with salsa music and friends or family of the restauranteurs were talking and drinking. We had the family salad ($9, enough for 4 to share) with a delicious house dressing of oil, vinegar, salt, and lime juice. They serve great standards of Dominican fare, like Mofongo, a ground up stuffing of plantains and onions. My wife had the special, El Papasito, that came with steak and onions, fried plantains, sweet plantains, and yellow rice. It was all delicious and filling. Portions are big, so you may want to split when you go. Prices are cheap. Entrees are mostly $9-$11, Seafood around $16. The only drawback is that the service is so slow. We were the only customers in there, but we waited about 15 minutes after finishing to get our bill. I hear that they do a lot of delivery, which is also slow, but the quality and atmosphere at such low prices are well worth it.
