Go for the drinks maybe, skip the food?. I;ve been here multiple times with many different people and for some reason most really like it. My friend from Upstate New York said it was the best mexican she ever had. It's been hit or miss with me - usually the food is uninspiring and just like any mexican at any cheap mexican restaurant. Sometimes the drinks are great so maybe if you go afterwork or just to hang out and maybe have an appetizer it could be fun.

WORST RESTAURANT in Hell's Kitchen!!.
Horrible food - not Mexican, doesn't even compare with Taco Bell.
Dirty restaurant - crawlers near kitchen and dining area...who did they pay off to pass food inspection?!
Rude Service!
Pick another restaurant...you'll be glad you did.

They force you to pay 20% gratuity without notification. They charge you per drink refill without telling you (my family of 4 racked up a $50 bill in coke and iced tea(!). The food is subpar - what kind of Mexican restaurant has ground beef outside of taco bell? The food is also extremely expensive for what you get. This is NOT an upscale restaurant, and our bill for 4 was ~$130. The OWNER of the restaurant is an EXTREME jerk! So rude I can't believe there is any repeat business. With all of the great restaurants in this city, PLEASE don't waste your time at this restaurant. Give your money to a restaurant that deserves it!

very nice surprise. Just ended up in Cancun because we were on 8th avenue for business on Saturday and at 3:30 pm were really hungry for lunch. We were therefore really happy to be served warm chips, salsa and water right away. Our waiter took our order very quickly, maybe too quickly, but being hungry we were appreciative. The food came in the expected time frame and was really very good. I was very surprised to see all the negative reviews because our experience was so positive.

Terrible!!.
I would go this restaurant only for the chips and salsa. They were sooo good!
On the other hand, I went today (Cinco de Mayo) and wasn't at all expected to be seated right away and for my food to come out quickly. However, I wasn't expecting to be forced to drink Tequila just because it was Cinco de Mayo.
The waiter offered me Tequila and I declined. He literally tilted my head back and poured about 2 to 3 shots worth in my mouth.
I also ordered my food before I was seated and the wait for my food was almost an hour. My friend and I ended up canceling our order and leaving.

BROKEN TOOTH - THERE WAS A SCREW IN MY GUACAMOLE. I can't describe what a horrible experience I had. I bit into a one-inch long screw that was in the guacamole. My tooth was broken. DO NOT GO!!!!! HORRIBLE IN EVERY WAY IMAGINABLE.

Consistant, and awful. I used to love coming here after work for drinks and food. Sometimes margaritas are the only thing that will do the trick and this place has great and giant margaritas. My distaste for this place has grown over the place four years, and after 20+ bad experiences, I've decided enough is enough. As a long time patron I’ve witnessed first hand how they’ve ‘shrunk’ their portions and raised their prices. How their service has severely declined, and is nothing short of pushy now. Unfortunately the ONLY thing that has remained consistent is the way they’ve tried to rip me off EVERY (over 20 separate times!) time I’m there. It’s so embarrassing that I no longer take clients here because you have to argue your bill every time. (Which is disappointing regardless of how many margaritas you’ve had) Aside from over or double charging for drinks, the service charge is usually hidden halfway down the bill – which which turns out to be easy to see when you’re expecting to be ripped off. So, although I like their drinks – the AWFUL service, poor quality and super-shrunk portions, and dirty bathroom, which I won’t even get into (yuck!) are the reasons that I will never go back here, and strongly recommend that other steer clear of Cancun!

ALWAYS try to rip us off!.
Well this will be several reviews combined into one since I have been here quite a few times. Luckily, I have had the same experience every time. We have been thrown out of here a few times. While sitting at the table we were told to leave for being loud, another time we were told to leave because people needed to sit. Umm, wait? But EVERY time they try to take advantage of our being BOMBED and try to rip us off. Overcharging, changing prices, charging for things no one ordered. The last time we went they added the service change (in the middle of the bill..luckily I caught it), then told us we owed 40 more dollars. I counted it twice and they did not bring out the money they claimed to be "not enough". They also asked, "Where is my tip?" hoping we wouldn't notice the service charge on there already. When I asked for a manager they played dumb. The only reason I award this place ANY stars is for three reasons:
1. I get bombed every time I go there
2. I think I might have gotten engaged to the busboy the last time we were there
3. I partly blame myself. It is like when you go back to an ex expecting things to be different. You should know better. They won't be.

Nice atmosphere. I've been to this restaurant a few times after ice skating in central park out of convenience and I've never had a problem. Food and drinks are very good, service is okay, but music can be a bit loud at times. I would still recommend for good Mexican food.

Great!. I went here not too long ago and I just had to blog a little about it. It had defiantly exceeded my expectations. I was in the city with a friend and when we got hungry we usually have a few hot spots in mind. Since we were rushing on this particular day we didn't and decided to take a chance. The staff was extremely nice and caring, the food was very fresh and was presented great. I will defiantly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great Mexican in Midtown!
