WOW!!! Amazing Service and Amazing Food!!!.
We were staying in Times Square when my friend and I happened upon Bella Napoli. My niece, Bella, had just been born and I thought we should try it. I am so glad we did! The owner, probably the same wonderful gentleman mentioned in another review, was outside and welcomed us in. The ambiance was wonderful and the food melted in our mouths... it felt so authentic! I highly recommend the tortellini.
On my next trip to New York, I brought my whole family. The same gentleman out front with a welcoming and friendly manner, the same great service, and amazing food. Our experience was so great we had our family photo taken with the owner and will come back on every trip to NYC!
Now, if only they delivered to the Midwest... :-)

A Fabulous Authentic Italian Culinary Experience.
We were strolling down 49th in search of a restaurant near our hotel. We walked passed a few places and came upon Bella Napoli. The owner, a man in a polo shirt was sitting out front asked us nicely to come in and said he would take care of us. Well, he certainly did.
The place is a simple yet warm restaurant and you immediately know you are in for an authentic Italian experience. The waiters all spoke Italian (and English of course) and so did many of the customers which we thought would bode well.
My wife and daughter found what they wanted on the menu but I didn't. When I asked for a variation on one of the dishes, our waiter Jimmy said they would make anything we wanted, any way we wanted it - no problem! After we ordered they brought us some of the best garlic bread we've ever had, oozing with garlic and oils. It's "If you didn't come here with your wife, you ain't kissing her when you get home" oozing with garlice. Yum..
The food was to die for, service was excellent and we were certainly well taken care of. Best Italian around.
We returned a couple of days later for our last meal before leaving New York. My wife and I had a pizza and our daughter had the gnocchi in cream sauce. Both absolutely to die for.
You definitely gotta check this place out. Grazie Mille to Jimmy and the staff!

True Italian pizza - worth ANY trip.
After a long day of sightseeing, our group was looking for something quick and safe as well as a clean bathroom. After a false start in a soup and salad place, we found ourselves looking across the street at Bella Napoli. We decided to give it a chance
THANK GOD!!!! This is one of those places that will now be on my itinerary EVERY time I visit any of the 5 boroughs. From the moment that Lomberto, the owner, met us at the door to the last moment when we had to drag ourselves out to finish our sightseeing, we were never disappointed.
We were just going to get a few slices, hit the restroom and quickly move on. But Lomberto interacted with our children and was very engaging with us. He convinced us to get a seat in the back away from the bustle of the street, and it was very sage advice. Instead of slices, Lomberto guided us through ordering a pie and 45 minutes later, we were refreshed, treated like VIP's, and completely satisfied with our meal.
Lomberto and his staff were very helpful and engaging. Erwin was a fantastic server, and the other servers were accessible as well. The food was exquisite and above expectations.
My good friend owns 5 pizzas shops in the Midwest that have been in his Italian family for 55 years, so I understand the different styles and ways to make pizza. If you are not sure how NY / Italian pizza is made, ask Lomberto or the staff to explain, so you understand what you are getting. They are happy to explain.
I know that I am a high-maintenance customer, as I know what I like. This is not domino's cardboard pizza for $5, and its not deep-dish pizza. But Lomberto and his staff were patient through my various requests and could not have been better. If I lived in the New York area, I would make this a regular stop for my group.
If there are negative reviews, it must have been either a very rare off-day, or the people writing the review have competing pizza shops. When a 12-yo boy in our group pressed Lomberto on how his was better than other pizza places, he politely informed the boy that in life you should never tear down others but only lift up yourself.
In the end, I would go out of my way the next time to ensure we visit Lomberto and Bella Napoli, and thank goodness we stumbled into their restaurant on 49th street.

Great Experience. We just happened upon Bella Napoli as we explored Manhattan. First time was for a quick slice of NYC pizza and we were not disappointed. We dropped by just before leaving town and ordered from the menu. Also superb. We met Mr. Dominic and he was extremely nice and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend Bella Napoli to visitors and locals alike.

Great food, Superb wait staff. Excellent experience, although a bit pricey. The owner was very personable and gave suggestions on all that we asked... places to see, transportation issues, and most importantly, the great food! We had talapia (off the menu!) and veal as well as gnocchi. All well prepared with wine appropriately paired. Over $100.00 for three people. Maybe not unreasonable for NY...

Great food at great prices~.
After walking for blocks with my daughter starving and only finding super expensive and long wait restaurants, what a delight it was to stumble upon Bella Napoli. Although you wouldn't think so from the looks of it, the place sat us right away (at around 8:30 pm on a Thursday night), the ambiance was great with a guy playing Italian music on the keyboard, the food was delicious and affordable, and it was exactly what we were looking for!
It goes to show that even in New York, you can have a great meal without being the fanciest place on earth.
Way to go Bella Napoli!

a truly authentic experience.
Our family was just wondering around the city and came across this great little jewel. Great pizza and what a fun time with the staff - Mario was the best - playing and joking with our 3 year old son. We had a blast and wish we could order some takeout to Cali!
Next time we are in the city we will be visiting again.
