We have had three experiences with Route 66, two eat-in and one delivery. the First Eat-in was terrible. The service was lousy and the food was not memorable. The Second eat-in Experience was very pleasant. the food was great as was the service and our final experience came today. We ordered take-out brunch through their website. Forty- Five minutes later I called to check on our order and the person who answered the phone assured me my order was on the way. I called fifteen minutes later when the food still hadn't arrived (now waiting an hour) and the woman who answered the phone told me that the website is not in service and not controlled by them; that the person who answered the phone didn't even work at the restaurant and they never got my order. So to sum up, and hour after ordering we have no food, a person telling us our food is on the way who doesn't even work there and a employee who while mildly apologetic about the bogus website and false assurances of delivery by a random person answering phone, doesn't care to do anything about it! They have lost our business and I will make sure to let everyone know about my terrible experiences!

Route 66 serves one of my favorite veggie burgers in Manhattan - you don't feel you're missing out on anything by opting out of the beef. Their fries are delicious. Their decor has an on the road feeling. I've both eaten in and ordered food delivered - I hate to admit this, but the food doesn't travel particularly well. It arrived cold and i didn't get the same enjoyment out of it.

I went here tonight with my girlfriend. They sat us right away and gave us water and the menus, but then they waited about 10 minutes or so before asking us even for drinks. So then when we give our drink orders, somebody else comes by to take our orders, not knowing that we had already just given our drink orders to somebody else. To be honest, I don't know who our waitress was, because there were two women taking our orders. Also, I don't know if there was a host/hostess or who that was, and I don't think there was a manager on duty. So after they came back and took our food orders, my girlfriend ordered the Penne Ala Vodka and I ordered the Sirloin Steak. On the menu it says that it is served with soup, but they never asked me what soup I wanted, nor did they bring any. I wasn't really in the mood for soup, but I felt a little odd that they didn't offer it to me, or even the option of a salad or something else. At this point also, every other table had bread on it, but not ours. They never brought us bread the entire time. Our food came out quickly, but that's on the kitchen staff. The food was overall pretty good, but I couldn't help but feel like I was eating an Applebee's steak. For a sirloin there was a lot of fat on the steak, but all in all it was rather tasty. I would actually reccommend the food just on taste alone, and it's fairly reasonably priced. But during the entire time we were eating, they did not come over once to ask us how our meal was, or whether we needed anything. Only an awkward 'do you need anything else' right when they brought the food. Nobody ever came to refill our waters even though there was none in my glass. I finished my wine and they didn't ask if I wanted another glass (I didn't, but still). I would have asked for more water if somebody had actually come. By the time we finished, we were so fed up with the service we didn't even consider dessert. I left a small tip because I was so appalled at the service. Not going back...
