in desperate need of refurbishing. lobby was nice. Thebar was pleasantand staff friendly and helpful. check in - there were 22 ahead of me with only 2 people at the front desk and not in a hurry. After getting off the elevator noticed walls are in desperate need of a paint. There were serious marks and gouges on the walls and doorways. Molding actually had chunks of wood missing. Room faired better but too much furniture for the room. King bed, large amoire and desk too much You could barely walk around. Bathroom required you to move around the door before you could get in comfortably. No thermostat, went from cold to warm with no way to adjust. Bed uncomfortable and on metal platform that caused stubbed toes.

A large room was probably Manhattan club other half of hotel -- gutted and expanded.

Repeat user. Have stayed here over a dozen times. Not as clean as before 9/11 and their American Airlines contract, but the front desk and housekeeping staff have always been friendly and responsive. Concierge service is contracted out and not so good...

Is it here yet??. Great location near Central Park and just about everything else, but for the price, not worth it. The service was slow, the front desk incomprehensible, and basically quite a logistic mess. The only convenience? Checking out - sign your name, leave your keys, and you're outta there.

Location gets a 10, but service gets a 2. I was looking for a fabulous weekend with a friend from Texas, but we just had to laugh at our hotel experience. Our reservation was given to someone with a similar name, during the 3 nights of our stay, our hotel key only worked once, and each morning the maids entered our room (without knocking)...let's just say they almost got an eyeful. When these issues were raised with the management, no apologies were offered...just excuses. After much prodding and persistence, we did get some comps.

While the price is good, I would look for a different hotel option next time.

8. This was our first time visiting the city of New York and we were delighted with the location of our hotel. We were close to everything and had a great room. We plan to visit New York City again and will stay at the same place. We give the hotel an overall rating of 8.

pleasant suprise!. My mother and I stayed at the Park Central Hotel May 19, 20, 21. We had a large, clean room with 2 beds, a nice bathroom, relatively new furnishings and a very helpful staff. My previous experiences in NYC all consisted of tiny hotel rooms that you couldn't turn around in, much less drag your luggage into. The Park Central was a pleasant suprise with reasonable rates and a great location as well. I'd stay there again.
