I recently stayed at the Amsterdam Court hotel while on business. The hotel was under renovation so it's interior was not neat, but the rooms were very clean. They were somewhat small, but that is what you should expect in NY. The one bad thing I had to say about the hotel is that the elevated was HORRIBLE. It was so slow, so be prepared to walk up and down stairs if you do not have the patience to wait. The other elevator was slow and took you to the wrong floors. The staff was nice and the hotel's overall look was appealing. The location was AWESOME, just 2 blocks from Times Square and 3 blocks from 5th Ave.

I recently had to spend some time in New York for work. Thus I took this opportunity to do some hotel investigating. The Amsterdam Court caught my eye because of its modern European styling, low price and its location being in Time Square. Plus its about 25 yards from several subway stops. Ive stayed at this hotel twice and both times my rooms were to my likingclean and void of any foul odors. Though the TVs are on the small side they are acceptable. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. However, on one occasion my room didnt have any towels. The court remains on my list of New York accommodations.

The hotel is in a great location. The lobby is less than impressive, but the staff is great. The rooms are TINY! And the 2nd floor was stinky. However, for $120 in NYC, you get what you pay for! Plenty of other places to spend your money. If you're on a budget and don't mind a TINY room, i'd recommend it...Otherwise, you'd be better off to spend a bit more and get a bit more.
