Great Location, that's about it..
So I just spent 4 nights here. Here are the things the hotel has that I believe would be appealing to someone.
1. 1 block from N and R train.
2. Walking Distance to Central Park as well as Times Square, Theatre District, etc.
3. Close to good restaraunts.
Hotel inside used to be an apartment building. Mainly studios or one bedrooms i believe. Rooms are large but extremely outdated. Beds are actually very uncomfortable. I was here with 6 people and each room had the same down-falls. Water in shower can't stay on consistent warm temperature. No ceiling fans, A/C did not work, no fan in bathroom. Kitchen is nice i guess if you need a Microwave, stove top and dishware....but your in NEW YORK! Who needs that when you have so much amazing food around you.
Also wih the exception of housekeeping staff and one of the front desk guys, the front desk staff was quite unfriendly and not eager to please. When you are paying almost 300 a night for this place, you would assume that the service would reflect the price. But then again, this is New York and customer service is very different. Not what I am used to in the mid=west. I would never stay here again. After a long day in this city you need a place to retreat to that is comfortable. No bar, no restaraunt, no room service except outside delivery. Old tv's facing the couch not the bed....Not impressed in the least.
One of the best. This hotel is one of the best hotels I've stayed in during my visit to the city. Quiet hotel, big rooms, very nice and helpful staff.

We visit NYC twice per year, and every time, we reserve way ahead to guarantee that we are able to stay at the Buckingham Hotel. We always request one of their deluxe one bedroom suites, because it has a great sitting room and well stocked kitchenette. This allows us to not only bring in food from Delmonico's our favorite deli, but to invite guests over for drinks & snacks before dinner. We just love this flexibility to also control our visits to amazing restaurant while still being smart about our caloric intake. Customer requests are responded to immediately, and The Buckingham Hote has becomel a great home away from home. I am able to recdommend it highly.

Nothing more than a motel. Buckingham has many flaws. The fixtures in the rooms are broken and the appliances don't work. Front desk attendants are gruff. Don't wind up here. There are too many cool places to stay.
A stylish place to stay after the show..
In Short
Performing artists and musicians have been sleeping in this this stylish, all-suite, Theatre-District hotel since 1929. The suites (there are 100 of them) are comfortable, spacious and come with fully-equipped kitchens. Guests can work out in the state-of-the-art fitness center, surrounded by a brightly-painted mural of street performers in Central Park, or relax to custom-surround sound music and a T-1 high speed internet connection in the Patrons Lounge.
