Fran at Westway couldn't be more phenomenal! The whole staff is great and, for midtowners, an entire eye checkup and picking out new frames takes less than a lunch break. But really the highlight, every time, if fabulous Fran!

Customer Service Keeps Me Loyal‎

I have been a customer of Westway Vision for several years now and have purchased 4 pairs of glasses over the years. I find the entire staff to be very competent and the customer service is superb! I hope the doctor knows what an asset he has in Fran. She rocks!

Great exam Takes time to get lenses

I am unemployed I had to really do my homework for the BEST price and deal.

I called ALL the BIG companies like Cohen's , Pearle, Lenscrafters. They ALL charged ALOT more with no deals or specials.

I got an exam and (2) 6packs of lenses fpr 99.00

Anywhere within 3 miles of zip 10019 charged more for just the exam. The drawback is make sure you have enogh supplies to last a week after you place an order...and then you can save without the sweat.....

Careless optometrist, wrong prescription, overpriced frames

I got a contact lens prescription at Westway Vision in 2009. They sent lenses they apparently shipped in from Korea. Within a week of wearing these new lenses that Westway ordered, My vision began to deteriorate within a week. If I don't wear contacts or glasses, my vision uncorrected is worse then before I made the bad decision of going to Westway,

I went back and they suggested that something was wrong on my end. Began to say things like "do you have dry eyes" "do you sleep with lenses on", and finally, "The Doctor is on vacation".

I came back in a week and the optometrist repeated the same excuses. When I asked him for a re-exam just in case he took wrong readings last time, he blew up and said he'll have to charge me a full examination fee.

Eventually I ended up at Weill Cornell hospital in NYC and after three "extensive" visits, they gave me a prescription that was much different from Westway's.

So, I decided that getting a prescription being out of the way, I can give Westway one more chance and walked in to their store to get my new eyeglasses made.

I already had a set of frames, all I needed was new lenses.

First, they weren't sure what kind of coating my existing lenses (2 years old) had. The assistant said "I don't think this is Avance", but the optometrist jumped in saying "no, I think it is Avance". They now commenced to give me upgrades to my lenses, $130 for avance, and $205 for the lenses. My budget came to $335. I was not convinced the whole time, but decided to give them a go ahead, and a $60 deposit. When I asked for a receipt, he said he'll give me when I get the glasses.

I walked out feeling weird about the whole experience. Why did I trust them in the first place? Walking through the streets, I hit another shop on 53rd street and told them about my prescription and how much they will charge. They gave me a bill of $265 (with Avance). Compare that with Westway's $335!

Its a mistake if you notice subtle issues to go to Westway Vision.

I have been a Westway patient for many many years.

As my life changes, job locations etc, Westway is the consistant factor. Having ready access to exams, corrective lenses at a fair price - Westway is always ready for my next airline job layover.

Dr Tanzil keeps careful record of my vision changes and has worked with me on many occasions to find recent products suited for my needs, Fran is just the best optician ever and helped me find extra slim line lenses for reading those fine print details..

Flying a jet or at my astronomy telescope - I see maximum stars (ratings) for the great folks at Westway!!
