Editorial Review for American Museum of Natural History – by Saul Anton

The Scene
Reconceived for the new millennium, the Rose Center for Earth and Space opened to the public after six years in the making--equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities and an outstanding exhibit: the Hall of the Universe. The museum also has several spaces that are perfect for private parties.

The Collection
In addition to the vast galleries of dinosaurs, whales, birds, snakes and aquatic life, the museum features the Rose Center for Earth and Space and the Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth. Other permanent exhibits are the Fossils Halls, Biodiversity, Meteorites, Mollusks and Our World and at least a dozen others.

Indispensible. This NYC landmark is one of the best museums in the city, if not THE BEST. A wonderful place to while away the hours. The dinosaur exhibit alone is worth the price of admission. What are you waiting for? GO NOW!

I have been to the AMNH over five times, but I just won't get tired of it. Not only does it have an amazing collection of animals and dinosaur fossils, but also insights on how our planet evolved to what it is today and some of the past and present cultures around it. The AMNH is one of the sights that must be seen at least once when visiting New York, and will please children and adults alike. Don't try to cover everything in a single visit, though--you'll exhaust yourself.

Pros: Superb permanent collection, with guides who help kids understand what they see
