A Mad World.
Just like that Donnie Darko song, it's a Mad World over at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) at Columbus Circle. Check out a crafty collection of contemporary hand-made objects from clay, fiber, glass, metal & wood from the Museum's collection. Pray that you are lucky enough to have Judy as your tour guide.

great place to visit.
I visited this museum last Saturday. I was surprised to see so many unique items made from ordinary things that we see every day. This museum is not very large but it inspires me to create something creative from what I have at home and display it in my living room.

Decorative and functional objects that elevate craftsmanship to an art at the former American Craft Museum..
The Story
This museum has been raising the public's awareness of the value of American craft and craftsmanship since its founding in 1956. Now that the worlds of art and design have become increasingly blurred, the museum has never been more relevant.
The Goods
On display in a four-story gallery space with a dramatic atrium, right across the street from the American Folk Art Museum, is the permanent collection of 20th-century handmade objects. The works range from everyday items, such as chairs and tableware, to the purely ornamental, such as jewelry and show-quilts. Every year, several exhibitions address trends, developments and new achievements in modern craft.
