“romantic restaurant on the rink!”
“After the Miso glazed Casco Bay cod the key lime pie was really great.”
“The Sea Grill is a great sea food restaurant in the middle of rockefellar plaza overlooking the rink with glass windows, a great looking bar and restaurant with excellent and flattering service, decor and ofcourse, the food is the best part!”
“So far, they're the best crab cakes I've had in any restaurant.”
“This is a high priced seafood restaurant offering great service and some very interesting menu options - this was the first time I ate somet.”
“Lots of places can prepare good sea food but this place turned lunch into a culinary experience.”
“Overall, however, I very much enjoyed the experience and can't wait to return.”
“Great service, great food.”
“feel that almost every NYC restaurant is too expensive, I have a lousy paying job and I was on a tight budget that night, so don't go by me.”
“Went here for Valentine's Day&its the best dinner I've had in a long time.”
There may be better seafood restaurants in New York (though not many, surely) but it's for sure that none have a better view, especially in winter, when you can look out and see people skating on the famous ice rink in Rockefeller Center. Newly-installed chef Yuhi Fujinaga has a deft hand with seafood, and brings some much-needed creativity to what had become somewhat staid.
Knocks spots off the NY competition.
I thought this restaurant was excellent. The servers were very professional, eager to please and were very honest about both the size and their own favourites. I even got to speak with the local manager and he was really pleasant and keen to hear feedback on how the evening had gone.
I'm British and do a lot of international travel - I'd recommend the crab cakes which were rich, succulent and outstanding and also my starter the tuna tartare - again, prepared to perfection. This restaurant is fairly expensive but worth every penny (or cent!).
winter restaurant week 2011. Winter restaurant week, i had a great experience including my friends from checking in my coat to exiting the room. The waiters were courteous and attentive. The food portions were good and the most important thing was the taste of the food was excellent,I had the smoked salmon with avocado, crab cake, sea bass and valrhona chocolate with mint foam and mini chocolate peals
Tasty -n- Tiny. Very good, very expensive, very small portions. Ever wonder why rich people always seem to be going to fantastic restaurants and ordering delicious food, yet stay the size of a teenager? You will know after eating here. The food (crabcakes and tomato bisque) was absolutely amazing, but I went and had a piece of cake at a coffeeshop when I left. In fairness there was bread on the table (that looked very nice), but the business associate I was with was not eating any and I did not want to be rude even though I was absolutely starving.
I love the sea.... The food was very good and the menu inventive. I have managed to taste different types of food that I had never eaten before (including a fish likened to a giant piranha). Among our group, the food mostly hit, although there were a couple of bland misses here and there. The portion sizes seemed a bit small to me for the price (or I just have an oversized appetite) but the food overall is 5 star quality.
Great seafood and dessert place..
Went in one of the restaurant week with my friends.
After the Miso glazed Casco Bay cod the key lime pie was really great. One of the best sea food I had in Manhattan
Wonderful!. The staff at Sea Grill was exceedingly polite, the food was excellent, and the ambiance was very romantic. From the host to the coat check lady to the servers, this place was absolutely classy. The food was wonderful - we had the lobster and the New Zealand salmon. Dessert was chocolate fondue for two and way too much for us to finish but it was delicious! Highly recommended!
This place really understands sea food. Went here for restaurant week with two friends and the experience was spectacular. The location is wonderful and it was snowing which really added to the experience as we looked out onto the skating rink. I had one piece of salmon sushi as me and a friend waited for the third person to join our group. The single sushi piece was a little (actually very) pricy at $5 per piece but the fish was really fresh and I will definitely go back for more sushi when I'm in the mood to indulge. We had three courses as part of the price fixed menu and everything from the mushroom soup, to the trout and chocolate ganache was absolutely delectable. The mushroom soup had an emulsion of cream at the top, which added a very creative touch and gave the soup that extra umph. The trout was cooked to perfection and served over a bed of shaved brussle sprouts. The dessert was edible art. The chef had arranged chocolate ganache, almond torte, orange icecream, and scooped out pear in such a visually pleasing way that I did not want to ruin it, but it five minutes later, my plate was wiped clean; my haste in consuming it was a true testament to the taste, for the flavors came together in a way which appealed very much to my taste buds. I love the restaurant and I have no complaints about the service for that was also wonderful. The bottled water was expensive at $9 per bottle so I will opt for the tap water. The food was great and you should give it a try. If you don't want to pay so much for the entre, then go at a time when they offer the price fix menu. Lots of places can prepare good sea food but this place turned lunch into a culinary experience.
Great food, great service. We went here for our anniversary, and it was perfect. Romantic dining (quiet, upscale) with prompt service. I had the tasting menu and everything was fantastic. Definitely one of the better NYC restaurants
Great food, wonderful view, terrific service.. I propsed to my girlfriend here on Saturday Nov 8 and it was beautiful. The service was terrific, the Maitre'd Rick was very helpful in making the proposal go smooth. We had reservations for 7, got their early and he sat us pretty quickly and got us a nice table facing the window so we could see the Ice. The food was great. I had the swordfish and she had the yellowfin tuna. They were both cooked perfectly. It was truly and wonderful night.
A SEA OF DISAPPOINTMENT.. I went to The Sea Grill a few Nights ago for my friend's birthday. We had made reservations one month prior. Upon our arrival we were treated as if we were garbage that had blown in from the avenue. Our food was average to say the least. The oysers were fishy. My crabcakes had shells in them. I would have never sent them back but I found it incredibly rude that our very masculine waitress, Kimberly, never even approached our table to see how everything was. We were never asked if we wanted any more wine and God knows we could have used another drink after that. We had to ask two managers for our waitress and were brushed off as if we were stupid chicks. First off, I am sure that I have more education in my pinky than they all had put together. To top it all off, the managers seemed completely un-phased that we were completely dissatisfied with our service. Don't waste your time and money.
