What People Are Saying About Vera Wang Bridal House

The flagship store is a perfect reflection of Ms. Wang herself, an ex-pro ice skater and Vogue editor who changed the face of wedding dresses forever by doing away with tacky lace and excess beading. The cool beige carpeted interior and sweeping spiral staircase create a perfect calming environment to choose a gown for your important day. The store houses all of Wang's wedding dresses as well as her ready to wear collection (favored by fashion editors and rich mommies), plus shoes and a small selection of evening bags. Expect signature Wang style, meaning sexy and minimalist. Don't come here…

1. This is my first daughter getting married so we were very new to the process.
2. Against my better judgement, she chose a gown from the 2010 collection - We realized too late that you have to wait for the trunk shows to see the new gowns - this is very important. When you realize that your wedding is far in advance, the newer dresses may appeal to you and be more fashion forward. DO NOT RUSH!!! It's a very expensive purchase!
3. The subtle pressure of 10% off only until Sunday made her call and order the dress. Vera Wang charged her credit card before we'd even signed the contract.
4. My daughter did sign the contract BUT the dress HAD NOT EVEN BEEN started. She went for that first fitting and called them on the way home to say she'd changed her mind. Too late - $4800 gone - there is no stipulation in their contract at all to cancel - it was a very expensive mistake -
5. She wound up purchasing Monique Lhuillier's waltz dress at Saks - You have 3 days to cancel there if the drress has not been started.
6. So no matter what - before you give them your credit card- make darn sure it is the dress of your dreams. DON't RUSH - and do the trunk shows then go home and THINK ABOUT IT. Saks is fabulous - NO PRESSURE WHATSOEVER - and they'll get you any dress you want. ALWAYS 10% off because you open a charge and LOTS of other perks - facials, makeovers, 10% on any purchases for the bridal party, tuxes for dad or the groom, etc. Saks is old world grace and service and they've been in business forever. Their sales people are wonderful.
Amazing gowns and experience

I recently got engaged a few months back :) and of course the first designer i thought of was MS VERA WANG!!! Her designs are impeciable and gorg. I had to be put on a waitlist for saturday, as that was expected. When i arrived at the salon i was greeted warmly and my consultant was very warm to me and my family. The manger and her staff are brilliant and very friendly. They creat a stress free environment and do not rush you in the appt or to purchase. After shopping here then going else where, Vera was hands down best in service and in her gowns.

Beautiful dresses, white glove service, but only if you wait your turn. Showing up on time for your appointment is not half the battle - it depends when the other brides are done. On this count, it's personal, catered service once its your turn. Couture gowns galore. But if your budget is below $10k, choices are rather limited and a bit disappointing. However, every bride should try on a Vera Wang gown - they are magical.
Staff also follows up nicely - thank you card and other mail correspondance.
- Pros: Beautiful gowns, pristene service
- Cons: Pricey
A good experience, but not amazing

I ordered my wedding gown at the flagship store after visiting some other bridal salons in the city. This place had my favorite dress, which is why I bought it there, but the staff was not as good as at other places. I had to do a lot of follow-up myself and they never called to let me know when the dress was finally in, but overall I was thrilled with the end result. I loved my dress, it was altered perfectly by their seamstress, who was really delightful to work with at my fittings. It would have been nice if they did something special at the final fitting. My dad came with me and said he'd hoped they'd take picture of give me some champagne. But since getting a beautiful dress was what I wanted, and that's what I got, I was happy with my experience.
- Pros: Gorgeous end result, perfect alterations
- Cons: Snooty atmosphere, didn't follow up
Awful service for what should be a happy day

This is the most deisapointing sales experience ever, and i was actaully buying a wedding dress. In short, no one followed up when my sales assistant quit, my phone calls were not returned even though I was specifically from abroad to buy the dress, I was not allowed to see the dress until I paid the full balance (needless to say a 40% deposit was already taken although I never received the bill), and the best thing: my dress was the WRONG SIZE, had grey STAINS, and war POORLY made. This is all after paying a few thousand dollars for it. I should have listened to all the horror strories! NEVER GO TO THE STORE IF ZYOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MILDLY HAPPY!
- Pros: Pretty dresses
- Cons: poor service, terribly made
