A jewel of a shop for uptown ladies who take their tea with bohemian flair.. The Scene
Entering this cozy store on the ground level of a townhouse is like walking into a baroque parlor draped with velvet and flowers; every fixture, from the cherubs to the chandeliers, is incredibly ornate. It goes without saying that husbands and boyfriends will feel out of their element, as will most people under forty--but this is one truly transporting shopping experience, and browsing is encouraged.

The Goods
If the "wearable art" in question were a school of painting, it would definitely be Pre-Raphaelite--it's easy to imagine a misty-eyed Ophelia sporting one of the store's luxuriant frocks. The hand-embroidered wool coats are exquisite, as is the bridal wear, but shoppers without Madison Avenue budgets might opt for a sumptuous shawl or some of the Victorian costume jewelry.
