In Short – The store does one thing, and does it well: flats, with leather or rubber soles, in materials like suede, quilted napa, metallic leather, calfskin and much more. And the ballet flat is perfect for fashionable New York women--stylish and casual, but not too casual. This Upper East Side shop makes up for its small size by stacking its more than 500 styles of flats sky high, with store employees climbing up ladders to pick from the stacks of leopard-print boxes that reach the store's high ceiling. – – Hits: With flats in every kind of color and material, it's…
I got a call back after being totally put off when I called
by MarlaS at Citysearch
I called and the clerk was so rude when she answered the phone, but another 10 minutes later, she called me back to be helpful. She apologized sorta for not helping me when I called and I must say, I never expected a call back after she instructed me to go on line and look because she was too busy when I called to talk. At least she called back though she wasn't real helpful even when she called back. Maybe I talk too slow for NY people. I am a southerner.
- Pros: love the shoes
- Cons: trouble getting assistance by phone
Not great.....

I used to buy most of my ballet flats from this store, but lately it seems customer service is non-existent. Not to mention the fact that they're having the shoes made in France to a lesser degree than before. The quality is just not the same. I've been buying London Sole flats instead (where in London they're called French Sole), who got the name first, I don't know. But I've been sending all my friends to either the London Sole website or they have a nondescript office-type store in Midtown. Sizing is definitely more European and run small.
- Pros: some good flats
- Cons: rude staff
Adorable Flats
by guess328 at Citysearch
I had trouble finding nice, comfortable flats that were actually cute. I came here and they had the best selection of flats. They had casual ones to wear during the day, dressier ones that you would wear to work and out night. The great thing is they last a long time because they are well made. I will be back to buy more next season!
- Pros: great service
- Cons: small store
