Great wings and Good Drinks!. I love this place. They have the best wings next to Croxley's. any how....The wings are the great. If you like spicy food then id suggest getting the "Dark Side" level of spicy, it's not too hot that you cant taste your food but its hot enough that you get the tingle. Also, their blue cheese is good.

The bartender is awesome, great convo and makes good drinks.

Overall I'd definitely recommend this place. I went there once on a date and have been going ever since. :-D

Hair in my burrito!. I was having a very nice brunch, loving the unlimited champagne for an additional $3, yes only $3, and it didn't taste bad! Until I cut into my breakfast burrito and found a hair. A very long, very dark black hair. I mean I don't even know how one that dark or long could fall into the food they prepared unnoticed, it stuck out in a pile of yellow eggs! This was not a little piece of fuzz or a baby hair, this was a lock. And now I see from other reviews I am not the only person who has had this type of problem. I think someone should make a little inspection visit here soon

Of course my overly polite self didn't tell the waitress, I just covered it with a napkin and made a mental note to NEVER return.

Excuse me waiter..there's a flea in your restaurant. Lesson learned- I need to read reviews BEFORE I try a restaurant.

I went to Blue Moon for the first time last night and I don't intend to return. I agree with most of the people who said the free tortilla chips and salsa are the only good thing in the place.

As previouly mentioned, the place was empty, dingy and dark. After ordering drinks, I looked at my boyfriends napkin, on the table, and spotted a flea...yes a FLEA. I was certain it wasn't a fruit fly (which are common in the food industry, plaguing even the swankiest restaurants at times) ...it was jumping...fruit flies don't hop. I felt bad for the waitress who had only a couple other tables of patrons, and my boyfriend was hungry, so instead of just downing my margarita (which was decent) and leaving, I ordered food.

I decided to order what seemed the safest... the taco salad with grilled chicken. I have to say the chicken was good, so I tried forgetting about the flea and ate some of it, but the rest of the salad was terrible. Soggy lettuce with crunchy tomato (ironically), a big glop of guacamole, one or two olives and some canned jalape?os.

Please save yourself and go uptown a few blocks to Taco Taco, they have excellent (far more traditional) mexican food, reasonably priced and I have yet to see a flea circus in the place.

tortilla chips. The only thing Mexican about this place was the chips. Half empty, old and skuzzy wooden bar place, with shaky tiny tables, and disgusting food. The chili was a flavorless mush taken from a can, or at least that?s what it felt like. The burrito my friend had was just as bad. The service was slow - considering that the place was pretty much empty around lunch time, at least the waitress could have been more attentive.

Poor Quality. My boyfriend and I decided to eat and have some drinks at Blue Moon, which is right down the street from our apartment. I was very, very disatisfied. The drinks (Beers) were fine. Howerver the food was absolutly GROSS! The hard shells tacos were soggy, the meat was of poor quality and it was barely edible! I will never ever eat there again. You couldnt pay me to eat there!

The staff was very, very nice though.

User review by kat. As a a long time resident of yorkville, i have seen many changes. And seen many a business come and go over the years. The blue moon mexican cafe has always maintained a level of consistency for great food, very friendly service and a relaxed , comfortable atmosphere. So with the stanley cup playoffs underway and cinco de mayo around the corner, i couldn't think of a better place to be!
