  1. We sat at a little table tucked away in a corner in the back and had a full view of the restaurant - very cute.
  2. Very cozy environment and the food is out of this world.
  3. The espresso is as close as you will get to a real Italian espresso - the ambiance is authentic, and all of the waitstaff is charming, italian, and eager to please.
  4. If you're dining solo, you will feel completely at ease in the cozy environs; in fact, you're likely to see at least one other solo diner hunched over a book, sipping a glass of Chianti.

  2. The coffee bar at the front is good for a quick bite or as espresso, and the gelatto stand that they put out over the summer is worth a look.
  3. If you find yourself on the Upper East Side, in the mood for an authentic Italian Panini and coffee, this is the spot to go to.
  4. The coffee is exquisite, pastry, gelati, all superb!
  5. This isn't a fancy joint by any stretch but they have great food, great wine and excellent service.

  1. Granted the service is spotty, but the food is authentic.
  2. The Tentazione was so delicious, the proscuitto/shrimp/pink sauce might sound weird but it works.
  3. Very cozy environment and the food is out of this world.
  4. The pasta is consistently perfect, and the house salad one of the best in the city.
  5. What a relief to finally have a GREAT meal.
  6. It's full of "young people eating inedible food" - this place is obviously wasted on the likes of you.
  7. The food was really good but I wouldn't recommend this place to picky eaters.
  8. If you're looking for a casual and reasonably priced italian restaurant with awesome food, this is the spot.
  9. At long last, an authentic Italian Caffe Bar/Ristorante here in New York City!

  1. My only two complaints are that (1) our server was a real space cadet and kinda inattentive and (2) the sodas were really small; overall, though, I had a great time and really enjoyed my dinner!
  2. Granted the service is spotty, but the food is authentic.
  3. The offenses: service is slow from top to bottom.
  4. Oh, as for the reviewer who complianed of high prices, fondue that conisted of "bread and peas", and the "old rich people eating poor food"; try the Olive Garden over in Times Square.
  5. Mind you, this was not some elegant waiter with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Italian; he was nothing special at all, except for his attitude.
  6. This isn't a fancy joint by any stretch but they have great food, great wine and excellent service.
  7. tried to coax an apology or some pleasant gesture from the hostess, but she would have nothing to do with it.
  8. Atrocious service (even if the sandwiches are delicious)
  9. It's full of "young people eating inedible food" - this place is obviously wasted on the likes of you.
  10. On my way out, I told her that it's not the waiter's fault for being a bad waiter; it's the management's fault for not training him properly.
  11. the service is excellent.
  12. Only rich looking really old people were there that night eating poor looking expensive foods.

  1. Fell in love with this place the first time, but the second time, I was insulted, offended and embarrassed because I was accused trying to walk out without paying a measly $20 tab (we not only paid the tab but had left a generous tip).

Appalled at service and rudeness!!

by Varelita17

Food is one of my passions. I love to eat out, try out different places, from your amazing hole in the wall taco place all the way to three michellin star restaurants. I have never been treated so rudely in my life.

I asked the waiter a question about the menu, he spoke softly so I had to ask again and then in front of all my friends he said, "oh, the difficult one has questions!". Then when I ordered the truffle carpaccio, he asked again from the other side of the table, do you know how much that dish costs? First of all, I get it, things with truffles are expensive but if the white truffle risotto at one of the best restaurants in the city is 250 i seriously doubt that that carpaccio is $400 as he claimed. All in all the most rude and appalling service I have ever encountered in NYC. Angelo was the waiter's name! Beware

Delicious Italian Panini on the UES

by EvanG

If you find yourself on the Upper East Side, in the mood for an authentic Italian Panini and coffee, this is the spot to go to. The narrow, although long, space has limited seating, but the few minute wait will be well worth it. For the sophisticated pallate, the “Panini di Via Quadronno” section of the menu will provide choices such as the Tentazione (Prosciutto, smoked mozzarella, rucola, and shrimp) and the “award winning” Non ti scordar di me (Speck, brie, and pate). The less adventurous can choose from the “Panini Semplici” section which focuses more on single ingredients. Looking around, the Open Faced sandwiches also looked enticing with the ability to cover a thick piece of toast in a variety of options. A cup of European coffee is great to end the meal, possibly with a gelato or their special deconstructed tiramisu.
