Love this Place. Nello Restaurant is the most elegant place i've ever visited. The food is beyond satisfying. The atmosphere is incredible and the world's wealthiest characters dine here. When I come here I feel like a star - five stars actually@ Thank you for Nello.

Nello Restaurant: Art Gallery With Beautiful Food. Not only is Nello Restaurant one of the most beautiful, European restaurants in NYC, it is like going to an art gallery with beautiful food. The Peter Beard photography is the most spectacular decor I have ever seen in any restaurant in New York. I even asked the bartender how much he thought each of the pieces were worth - he said over $400,000 a piece. Holy Crap! Anyway, the decor - the large bouquets of cherry blossoms, the classical music playing at just the right volume, and the people - everyone was laughing and smiling and so stylish. This place is not only hip the food is GREAT! Every time I have been to Nello I have never had a bad meal. I do not find it expensive. To sit in the most spectacular surrounding in the most beautiful areas (the best shopping mecca in the world), nothing compares to this - not London- not Paris. It is just amazing. Nello himself is an extremely tasteful person. Every time I go there I find him dressed impeccable. His personality is that of a Renaissance man - knowledgeable, industrious, and generous.

Nello Restaurant Madision Avnue NYC. Nello Restaurant run by Nello Balan on Madision Avenue in NYC is a gem. The food is outrageous, the people watching is the best in the city, the drinks are poured heavy handed. The experience, oh the experience, it is out of this world - so fun, so sexy, so cool. It is time well spent and creates a beautiful memory. As a memory collector - this is one of the best in NYC. Visist Nello - for a drink of for lucnh of dinner - you will see - you will be transported. You will leave happy and have happy memories.

Best to Watch People. Can be expensive but worthit every penny, the best place to watch people in Madison Avenue!. Chic, nice food, fresh flowers, beautiful clientele. I found this place when I was leaving the best salon in New York, Rodolfo Valentin that is next door to Nello. After having such a beautiful hair after Rodolfo did it I wanted to show it and Nello was the perfect place to do it!.

Mediocre food, RUDE service.
I dined here as the result of a charity donation, with one of Nello's celebrity regulars. I have never been treated so RUDELY by waitstaff, even by New York standards. I have lived in Manhattan, and have dined in the finest restaurants both there, and abroad. I can honestly say their treatment of both myself, and their celebrity regular, was completely uncalled for. We were rushed from course to course, and once the check was paid, a member of the waitstaff literally stood behind my chair, saying "thank you...thank you...thank you..." any time he caught the eye of either myself or their CELEBRITY regular. I thought this was beyond rude and uncalled for. I am a physician, and we were both dressed to standards befitting this restaurant. We weren't even "allowed" to wait at our table until our coats were retrieved. We had to stand amidst a sea of people awaiting tables. I understand they want to turn over tables to seat other guests, but their behavior actually ruined a charity lunch for which I had donated $7000. If I had been paying the check, I would NOT have left a tip for such rude behavior. I understand that this rudeness on the part of the waitstaff is common, and is even more noticeable when directed at "regular" diners. I can only imagine how they treat those people if they were willing to embarrass a celebity customer whom they now by name and reputation.
As for the food, mediocre at best and priced very highl! I really do not see the allure of this place with rude service and so-so food. Personally, I will NEVER go back and will be sure to tell this tale to all who will listen. Think about it...if they treat a celebrity regular and his guest like dirt, how will they treat you? All in all, a super disappointing experience NEVER to be repeated.
