Fine Italian about covers it. Excellent service! Waiters are always predicting your needs and you feel like they know just how you like things the very first time you dine at the restaurant. The food spectacular, their signature lobster fra diavolo is excellent. The lamb shank, grilled salmon, and penne with eggplant are also some of my favorites. The wine list is first-rate as well. Overall 5 star restaurant!! And the live music is always appreciated!

Good food, Bad waiter. I have been to other of Nino’s restaurants and it is a pleasure to say that the First Avenue branch lives up to their high standards.

The piano player was excellent and everyone must try Nino’s osso boco or their branzino grille. If this is finished with a double expresso and a slice of chocolate mousse cake, then you have indeed had a very fine meal

Unfortunately, we managed to get a waiter who was not up to snuff. We should have realized something was amiss, when he confused or forgot the specials of the night. While other waiters mixed the cesaer salad in front of patrons, he brought out ready made plates. Our waiter was AWOL during our very nice meal, (luckily there were attentive bus boys), but he did managed to fill in a very nice fat tip for himself, when he presented our bill.

Dinner for four with an inexpensive bottle of wine is about $ 300 and well worth it, but get a different waiter.

Not worth it. This restaurant has lost it's charm. I'm not sure who's doing the cooking, but the food is not worth the price you pay. Not a restaurant I would recommend.

Free $50 Certificates on the cw!. With the CW's $50 free gift certificates, Nino's is even better! If you go to cw11 com/diningpix, you can buy two $50 certificates for $50. Not to mention that the food here is incredible! Even Regis Philbin eats here! And it is great when it is made more affordable by Dining PIX!

Rip Off. Went last week during restaurant week. Was shocked when we received the bill...no longer serve "free water" which is what they advertise, the house red wine was $14 a glass, and a refill on a cup of coffee was additional. The water and wine, we didn't argue but a second cup of coffee we did. The manager took the coffees off the bill-but what a disgrace! I will never go back and neither will my friends.

Bellisimo. Wonderful high-end authentic italian restaurant. Best italian in th city. Atmopshere is great, and piano players are enjoyable.

Good Food, Poor Service, Outdated and "Cheesy". I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary on a week night. Surprisingly busy, prompt seating and warm greeting at the door. The place setting was very outdated, it felt as if we were sitting to a flash back of a 1970's italian eatery. The uniforms of the all male wait staff was vest and bow tie, the decor of the restaurant is in dire need of an updating, and there was a generally old crowd of what appeared to be regulars (being greeted all with hand shakes and kisses). The food was good, but the presentation was very 1970's. Two big dollops of whipped potatoes on top of each other, and everything came with a bed of asparagus. Very outdated, nothing fun or risky. The service was dismal, on top of having the wrong appetizer brought, although the replacement was very quick to come, I had to get out of my seat three times to pour myself another glass of wine from our $75 bottle to which then a member of the staff came running over to take it from me, too late. And no one came to our table side to see if everything was satisfactory. When time came for the bill the wrong appetizers which was brought was still on the till.

Overall this place was average, where the food excelled, the presentation and service/decor brought it back to the middle of the road. It was a fun experience in that we found ourselves laughing at how corny the piano/electric organ player in the corner was, and the fact he was singing "bailamos". The same waiter never came back to our table, and i had to pour my own wine and no one checked in to see how everything was. Personally i would not return.

Romantic Italian.... Tried this place out last night and I had a terrific time. Dim lighting makes it romantic and they even have a live singer singing love songs all night long...just lovely! For appetizers I had their baked clams, and imported buffalo mozarella. For entree I had their lobster with fettucine. It was a 4lb lobster fresh from the tank. For dessert I had their chocolate mousse cake which melted in my mouth. Everything was tasty and wonderful. I was so stuffed I couldn't even touch the complimentary fruits they gave us. Service was attentive and excellent. They even offered complimentary drinks toward the end of the night.
