What People Are Saying About Doc Watson's

The Scene – Like most Irish pubs, this one's packed with Emerald Isle bric-a-brac: Soccer memorabilia, leprechaun statuettes, T-shirts emblazoned with four-leaf clovers and bartenders boasting authentic Irish brogues. Yet because it's located on the Upper East Side, it has loftier pretensions. The lamps above the sleek wooden bar look like Tiffany knockoffs, and the walls are decorated with reproduction vintage tin advertisements for Coca-Cola. Downstairs, the game room offers a pool table and darts and, in the back, a secluded garden allows patrons to drink alfresco in the summer.…
great place to eat in, never order delivery
by UESbabe at Citysearch
i LOVE Doc Watson's. I live and work 5min away and eat or drink there about once a week. the drinks are great and the waitresses are so sweet.
I just recently decided to try their delivery services. the first time i called in an order they didn't shown up after an hour and a half and two phone calls, the guy claimed he was lost ( the address was 5 blocks away) and i got neither my food or an apology. so i tried again a few days later, it took them about 40 min to deliver and when i went to pay the deliverer didn't have enough change... for a $20!! lucky for him i didn't either.
of course i'll still be going to DW's but i don't think i'll be ordering out for a while
- Pros: great service, drinks and food IN the restaurant
- Cons: deliveries are timely, inconvenient and costly
Low key, good food

Very low key type bar, nothing special to it. The food is really good. The cajun chicken sandwich, the hamburger, and the chicken pot-pie are all good. I order delivery from here sometimes too. Service can be so-so, but for the most part pretty good.
- Pros: Good neighborhood bar, food,
Great food and Great staff/Manager
by RobertandJill at Citysearch
A group of us went into Doc's after a Yankee game and had a blast. The bar was crowded and we were unsure of getting a table. However, we were greeted by a friendly and professional manager , named Sharon who seated us and had a waitress attened to us promtly. The Guiness on tap was cold and not like other bars where bartenders dont know how to pour it. The food was good and it was'nt over priced, just good bar food. The waitress told us they have a good irish band and we plan to see them soon. So join us at Doc Watsons for a good time.
- Pros: Good food and staff
- Cons: N/a
