Great food and Great staff/Manager – A group of us went into Doc's after a Yankee game and had a blast. The bar was crowded and we were unsure of getting a table. However, we were greeted by a friendly and professional manager , named Sharon who seated us and had a waitress attened to us promtly. The Guiness on tap was cold and not like other bars where bartenders dont know how to pour it. The food was good and it was'nt over priced, just good bar food. The waitress told us they have a good irish band and we plan to see them soon. So join us at Doc Watsons for a good time.
My favourite UES bar! – This is my favourite bar on the UES. The staff are always friendly and helpfull, the food is awesome! (especially the burgers) They also have great drink specials. Check out the irish music on sunday nights its always a lot of fun!!!
worst staff – Friday night myself and a couple of friends visted this bar for the first and last time, Wait staff were slow and unhelpfull, There was a simple mix up on my food order that could of been easly fixed but waitress seemed unwilling to help, She got confussed and rushed off in a storm, I remained quiet finished the meal and asked for the cheque.... Eventually we recived the cheque afer a bit off a wiat. When leavin i apporached the manger who was actully as unhelpfull as the waitstaff, She was unqualified and very unprofessional, The only response i got was the odd yeeah as she nodded her head with a lifeless expression on her face. It is obivious to me and im sure to others that the staff in Doc Watson do not take pride in there job and maybe should reconsider there career.
great ambience, good times – I love this place! Had dates with 2 handsome guys here but also perfect for hanging out or chilling with your girlfriends. The drinks are great. The bartender was actually Irish and we met another Englishman beside us.Wow, did they exist on the UES, well, it is an Irish bar.Love this place! Very pub-likeand the bartenders arecool and friendly. Highly recommend this.
The best wings in New York City – The bar is really nice, and friendly, but man ... the wings are really incredible. Fall off the bone, spicy ... perfect.
Burgers are delicious...lots of beers on tap...waitress seemed annoyed by our presence but the weather was beautiful and you cant beat sitting outside. Definitely a good pub.
Great UES Pub – There are a lot of pubs in the UES but this one is my favorite. I love the vibe...especially in the nice weather when they open the windows. Draft beers are good and nice staff. I also like the music, plus they dont play it so loud you cannot carry on a conversation.
The Drinker's Disney – Doc Watson's is one of the finest establishments in the United States. The food is excellent and the drink selections are second to none. If you haven't been already, head over and grab some Stellas today.
Simply the Best – Doc?s is simply the best bar on the UES if not the entire city. Excellent drinking selection, superb pub grub and entrees, and above all an absolutely phenomenal staff. Frank is the type of bar keep that every man and woman working in the bar industry should aspire to be like. ?Go and get tanked @ Doc?s today!
Irish excess grounded with warm service and Celtic melodies. – The Scene
Like most Irish pubs, this one's packed with Emerald Isle bric-a-brac: Soccer memorabilia, leprechaun statuettes, T-shirts emblazoned with four-leaf clovers and bartenders boasting authentic Irish brogues. Yet because it's located on the Upper East Side, it has loftier pretensions. The lamps above the sleek wooden bar look like Tiffany knockoffs, and the walls are decorated with reproduction vintage tin advertisements for Coca-Cola. Downstairs, the game room offers a pool table and darts and, in the back, a secluded garden allows patrons to drink alfresco in the summer.
Neighborhood denizens (think Wall Street brokers) looking to reconnect with their Celtic heritage flock to Doc's for friendly service, inexpensive drinks and upscale bar eats. Sunday evenings the traditional Irish band Aonach hosts three-hour jam sessions, but most nights revelers play the entire oeuvre of U2 on the jukebox.
