What happened to the atmosphere?. I used to go to docs a few times a week.. A few of the old bartenders just magically left and the remining ones were real shady about it. The past few times I've hung out thr it just wasn't the same . Lots of cocky attitudes and forced conversation. Service went down the drain and not to mention I ordered a stoli martini and got some kind of gin. Won't be goin back to my old neighborhhod bar anytime soon.
Great neighborhood pub. Usually frequent Doc Watson's for live sports. They always have a great crowd, fun bartenders and solid pub food. Thursday and Sunday nights they have live music and its just an overall good time.
Great Bartenders. Handsome friendly bartenders from Ireland. Need i say more?
great place to eat in, never order delivery.
i LOVE Doc Watson's. I live and work 5min away and eat or drink there about once a week. the drinks are great and the waitresses are so sweet.
I just recently decided to try their delivery services. the first time i called in an order they didn't shown up after an hour and a half and two phone calls, the guy claimed he was lost ( the address was 5 blocks away) and i got neither my food or an apology. so i tried again a few days later, it took them about 40 min to deliver and when i went to pay the deliverer didn't have enough change... for a $20!! lucky for him i didn't either.
of course i'll still be going to DW's but i don't think i'll be ordering out for a while
Low key, good food. Very low key type bar, nothing special to it. The food is really good. The cajun chicken sandwich, the hamburger, and the chicken pot-pie are all good. I order delivery from here sometimes too. Service can be so-so, but for the most part pretty good.
Great food and Great staff/Manager. A group of us went into Doc's after a Yankee game and had a blast. The bar was crowded and we were unsure of getting a table. However, we were greeted by a friendly and professional manager , named Sharon who seated us and had a waitress attened to us promtly. The Guiness on tap was cold and not like other bars where bartenders dont know how to pour it. The food was good and it was'nt over priced, just good bar food. The waitress told us they have a good irish band and we plan to see them soon. So join us at Doc Watsons for a good time.
My favourite UES bar!. This is my favourite bar on the UES. The staff are always friendly and helpfull, the food is awesome! (especially the burgers) They also have great drink specials. Check out the irish music on sunday nights its always a lot of fun!!!
worst staff. Friday night myself and a couple of friends visted this bar for the first and last time, Wait staff were slow and unhelpfull, There was a simple mix up on my food order that could of been easly fixed but waitress seemed unwilling to help, She got confussed and rushed off in a storm, I remained quiet finished the meal and asked for the cheque.... Eventually we recived the cheque afer a bit off a wiat. When leavin i apporached the manger who was actully as unhelpfull as the waitstaff, She was unqualified and very unprofessional, The only response i got was the odd yeeah as she nodded her head with a lifeless expression on her face. It is obivious to me and im sure to others that the staff in Doc Watson do not take pride in there job and maybe should reconsider there career.
great ambience, good times. I love this place! Had dates with 2 handsome guys here but also perfect for hanging out or chilling with your girlfriends. The drinks are great. The bartender was actually Irish and we met another Englishman beside us.Wow, did they exist on the UES, well, it is an Irish bar.Love this place! Very pub-likeand the bartenders arecool and friendly. Highly recommend this.
The best wings in New York City. The bar is really nice, and friendly, but man ... the wings are really incredible. Fall off the bone, spicy ... perfect.
