“The food was excellant, the price nice and overall a great place to spend an evening.”
“The cons are the service in the restaurant is just awful, the delivery service is so slow it takes about an hour and a half, and the portions are tiny.”
It's important to note that all "Spice"
Restaurants do not taste the same nor provide the same level of customer satisfaction. That being said, I'm not a fan this location (I've been to all in NYC).
I've gotten wrong orders which scares me because I'm a vegetarian and its sometimes hard to make out what's chicken and what's pad thai in my bowl. I've also had my food brought out cold. I've had a waitress completely ignore me for 20minutes after sitting. It's annoying considering how much I'm a fan of the establishment. My advice: check out their East Village location: its much better though can get a bit more packed.
Rudest service ever. I tired to order delivery from this place and they were soooo rude when I tried to explain my address and how to get into my building and when I said ' I"'m just trying to make it easier for the delivery guy" all they could say is ' we don't care we just need your address they'll figure it out' soooo fi-n rude and typical. all i have to say is learn english and don't feel like you are mightier than thou; if you want to increase business you will never do it by being rude and not knowing english
Great food, great service, cool atmosphere. I went here with two friends that were in town visiting and we loved it. The atmosphere is cool, the service was prompt and friendly, our waters were constantly being filled up, the food came out quickly and very hot and tasted great. The prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes were perfect. I recommend the crispy spring rolls, the pad thai with tofu, the coconut cheesecake and the chocolate cake with green tea ice cream. Everything was really good and I'll definitely go back there.
Nice Ambience. We ordered the Jade Seafood Dumplings, Golden Fritters and the Drunken Man Noodles. Nothing to really rave about. It was good but not great. I guess you can't complain if you are only paying 5 bucks for an appetizer.
HAIR IN MY FOOD - NASTY!!!!!. Hey Food Lovers, I have never been so grossed out in my life - hair in my food!!!!! I was completely disgusted w/ my meal. I don't know whose hair it was or where it came from (and i don't want to know) but I will NEVER EAT from Spice again - 1411 2nd Avenue New York 212-988-5364. Tracey
best thai food around!. I've eaten here probably 3 times in the past 3-4 months. food is amazing and price is very affordable and service is fast. Especially try the drunken man noodles with chicken or tofu... it's amazing! also they have a nice range of drinks.. atmosphere is great also with candlelit tables and dim lighting.. perfect for dining in a group of 4 or smaller. But the food is definately amazing in my opinion!!
Great take out. I've ordered takeout from this restaurant several times. The delivery is sometimes a bit slow, but not terrybly so. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I am particualrly fond of the shrimp pad Thai and the geyser shrimp in a clay dish. The duck was also tasty. I have never sat down at the restaurant so I can't speak about the service, but as far as UES Thai takeout, this is an excellent choice.
cheap food, but not cheap enough. do not call this restaurant for delivery! the food is not worth the money you pay for it. we were put on hold for 5 minutes before someone came on the phone to take our order. we got a soup and 2 entrees for $25. when we opened up our food, the container was not even half full. we have never seen a restaurant stingier than this one. it is definitely not worth the 5 minute wait on the phone, and definitely not worth our $25
