Amazingly, people here, at least on the 2nd Ave & 76th St. store, really seem to take pride in their work and actually know what is contained in the store. This is refreshing after going to the other national big-box options or even more local chains like duane reade. They may not always be "polite" or address you with a forced-greeting that many companies require, but the people do usually know what they are talking about and are willing to take the time to help you. It's hard not to have low standards when visiting pharmacies and department stores in NYC, so this one really stands out to me. Plus they are a fully-stocked hardware and household supplies store and often save me a trip to home depot or bed bath and beyond. Actually, I don't even use them for getting presriptions, so I can't comment on that aspect of the store.
Pros: knowedgable staff, great product selection
Cons: a little bit disorganized, but at least the staff knows where things are

I like this store. I get my prescriptions filled and since they have practically everything else.....office supplies, housewares, cleaning supplies, picture frames, bed and bath, cds and small entertainment electronics, furniture, greeting cards, decorative accessories AND a fully stocked True Value hardware store on the first floor...I do much of my shopping here. The only bad thing I can say is that I wish the service matched the selection. The quality of the service ranges from nearly hostile to indifferent. Oh well, it is New York after all.
