Editorial Review for The Pierre – by Gayot.com
The Scene
It could easily be mistaken for an Old-World club rather than a luxury hotel. When it opened in 1930, a guidebook described the Pierre as "beautiful, gorgeous, distinctive, catering only to those of refined tastes who can afford the best in the way of hotel luxury." It's as true today as it was then, managed impeccably by Four Seasons Hotels, which spent more than $70 million renovating its crown jewel.
The Details
This place is as grand as it is subdued, with its traditional European antiques and gleaming mahogany. The service includes such niceties as packing/unpacking services and one-hour pressing. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are served in the glorious Rotunda, rich with mythological trompe l'oeil paintings by Edward Melcarth. There's piano music nightly in the Pierre Lounge, and the Cafe Pierre offers light, modern classical cuisine in an elegant ambience.

I recently visited NYC for business and stayed at The Pierre for the first time. It was recommended by a frind. It was so far my best stay in New York. Everyone was so friendly and sharp. Everything was arranged to my likeness. Front desk was friendly, efficient and most of all NOT DULL! I would rcomment this hotel to all my friends.

This hotel is simply amazing. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were large and beautiful. When we would come in for the night, our beds were turned down. It is the perfect romantic getaway and well worth the price.
Pros: Staff, Room Size, Beautiful
