The customer service was extremely disappointing. I arrive early to my appointment. I had to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment. time. I explain what service (highlights, wash, and blowdry). I would like 3 different people (when I walk in, the owner, and the stylist). They insist on coloring my hair and highlighting. They tell me I have 5 min to think about coloring my hair. Then he comes over with the color mixed without discussing the exact color shade with me. Then proceeds to tell me that the 5 min I was given was to think about whether I want highlights or not for an extra charge. I refused the color and he proceeds to tell me how much the mix is costing him ($12.00) and that he spent 10 min talking to me after I waited an hour to be serviced. Then to add to this he gets someone to translate as if I didn't understand what he was saying.
Needless to say I walked out of this place and do not recommend to go there and spend my money elsewhere.
I did buy this deal a couple weeks ago, I was waiting before I wright this tip for the best ever hair dresser I ever seen in my life just to see if any change or something missing on my hair , but no im really wrong about thinking like that , I did color and highlight glaze cut wet and blowdry it straight then cut it dry to check if every thing is even , I was just thinking when I get this deal to cut and blow dry and leave like any client does , but nazo make sure that he doesn't want me to leave before he find a deferent look for the summer with my big curly thick long hair :p first we had a really long conversation about how im gonna look like and how is the blond hair not orange plus the glaze he gonna do its not gonna broke my curly hair. about the cut he didn't talk a lot be cos I felt that what ever and how ever im gonna be picky he will give the fabulous job , he bring a French delicious wine for me then he start hes art, I didn't stayed a lot time of course be cos he know exactly what he doing he fix the color then he did a highlight then he glaze it ,after he cut it with the fabulous way he know, after he dry it straight he cut the end again , I felt realy better tell now after a month later , but also he charge me more be cos I just get the deal for 45 dollar for a cut and blow dry but I don't care , no usally I care about my money :p but with nazo I will never care any more I don't mind to pay him what ever he want as far as he do that beautiful job . all my friends love it my boy friend start to call me a movie star be cos I start to take care of my hair more and more ,I will be back soon my rout need a touch up maybe a little trim again. im not afraid in hes chair be cos he is really the best hair dresser I ever seen in my life , I wanna tell him and I hop he read what I wright , NAZO keep fixing the girls hair u are the best .
I had the worse experience I've ever had in my life.
I usually don't write reviews, but I wrote it in a different source after I got a hair cut using a deal in life booker at Da Pietro in Upper East (NY). That time the stylist didn't do what I asked her, so she cut my hair so short that now I'm struggling every day to control the frizz. I didn't complain to them or anything but I thought of getting a Keratin treatment as it seems the only thing that can fix this hair cut, so I saw a life booker deal of a Keratin treatment at Da Pietro in their Midtown location, after many tentatives of getting an appointment Antonio ( the owner) called me saying that I could go at 3pm, so I did.
Getting there he asked to see the loot and immediately asked why I had wrote the review, and what was that about.....I told him that the review was specifically to Wilmas's hair cut (the stylist) and that I was now trying to fix it with a different person and using a different treatment.
He started yelling at me, offending me saying that I was cheap, and that he didn't want to touch my hair.
He even offended me referring to the way I was dressed (wearing flip-flaps) - what a discrimination!
I was never treated that way in my life before, I was shocked and surprised.
I could even noticed that the salon was quite small, and dark...not the type of salon you can relax and enjoy. Their Salon in Upper East is "ok", but they don't use the best products on your hair - so Antonio calling me cheap is quite wierd...
After all, while Antonio was yelling at me he finally asked me to get out, which I was already doing after all his "show".
I called lifebooker the minute I got back home to ask for my reimbursement.
Antonio, you don't deserve people's respect and you will never get to a high level service given the style of your Salon and due to your behavior. You should feel shy after what you did yesterday.
In the middle of so many salons in the city, you should watch yourself and how you treat people.
HERE IS A TIP: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON....RUDE OWNER- SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL, CHEAP PRODUCTS!!
Midtown review. Honestly i was expecting something different when i got to the salon - it looks nothing like the modern website/descriptions/reviews. It's very outdated. Also, the products used are definitively not something i expect from even the cheapest salons. Tressemme shampoo and conditioner was phased out from my bathroom back in high school. So i was very surprised that this was in a top rated salon. I purchased a Groupon for 45$ (220$ value). I have no idea where the 220 dollar value comes from. I did not get a massage or a conditioning treatment or anything extra that would make it somewhat understandable.
I will say that Ellie did give me a really good textbook layer haircut. She does know how to cut hair. From my experience though, coming to a Manhattan salon, i expect a bit more finesse, a bit more style from the place.
The Best Place to get a haircut in the US! – Da Pietro, run by Antonio, is the best place to get a haircut in the US! I come from Boston anytime I need a haircut - I've had haircuts several other places and none have even begun to compare to Antonio's haircuts at Da Pietro. I refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else. My mom has been coming here for decades and swears by the haircuts, coming up from Florida just for Antonio. I can't say enough good things about Da Pietro, from their consistently great service to phenomenal talent, they should be everyone's #1 choice.
One classy hair salon! – I totally love my experiences at this salon. Antonio is a master colorist that spends his time ensuring that my color comes out perfect. I've gotten so many compliments and cannot imagine ever going elsewhere. He is meticulous and hard working, making sure I am satisfied on every level. Rocco cuts my hair and does beyond a superb job. He is very attentive and listens to exactly what I want. Sarah's scalp massage is to die for and every time I go I feel as if I want to melt in the chair. I highly recommend this salon.
Best Color!! – I love my friend's highlights... she gets them done at Da Pietro, so I went in this past weekend to get some highlights for myself. I absolutely love how my hair came out!!! The color is perfect...exactly what I wanted! I even tried a new hair color treatment they offered which I never heard of. Ironically, the next day I read about it in my fashion magazine. I feel so on trend with what's new and fresh in hair treatments!! I highly recommend everyone go there for color or highlights. You will not be disappointed!
Hair Salon on UES – I have been a customer of dapietro for over 15 yrs , I am very happy with all my highlights, and color that i have done there.I pay alot $400 but its worth every dollar. thank you anthony and rocco for all your help in making me a happy blonde.i will be your customer forever.
Thank You – Thank you to all our costumers for the kind words. ))))
A Wonderful Relationship – Getting your hair done should be a warm and welcoming experience...similar to that of which one gets when they arrive at their daily hang out. Da Pietro's is exactly that type of place. Antonio and his brother, as well as the lovely group of veterans greet you warmly when you walk in and inquire about all the details of your life-like they never missed a beat.
In addition, the attention one receives in the grooming and styling of your hair, is like no other experience. Who needs big names, when you can have real experts who leave you feeling glamorous and well attended.
I highly recommend them for all your hair care needs.
