“The best place I have gotten a good and inexpensive haircut is Supercuts.”
IT IS VERY SAD THAT SUCH GREAT NAME AND
GREAT STYLIST THAT WORK THERE IN THE NYC SALON ARE BEING TREATED SO BAD. THEY ARE BEING THREATEN BY A MANAGER EMMY WHICH HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS NOR ETHICALS. I HAVE HEARD HER TELL HER EMPLOYEE AND CUSTOMERS THAT SHE HAS BEEN THERE FOR 17YRS AND SHE KNOWS THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY "PERSONALLY" (THE WAY SHE SAYS IT DOES NOT SOUND PROFESSIONAL). IF ANYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT HER THEY WILL BELIEVE HER NOT AN EMPLOYEE OR A CRAZY CLIENT. THAT IS THE WAY SHE ADDRESSES HERSELF TO THE CLIENTS.
SHE HUMILIATES THE EMPLOYEE SHE THREATEN THEM WITH CHANGING THEIR HOURS. NOT PER SAY THEY ARE UN ABLE TO TAKE THERE VACATION AND REFUSE TO PAY THEM WHAT IS RIGHT. THEY OVER WORK THEM BUT DON'T PAY THEM!!
YOU CALL HEADQUARTERS AND THEY DON'T CHECK ON ANYTHING AND THE REGIONAL MANAGER DON'T ANSWER TO NO ONE. SAD SAD SUCH NAME IS DISAPPEARING BECAUSE A BAD MANAGEMENT.
This woman gave me a full head of BLEACH!. If I could tell you her name I would, but her Spanish accent was so heavy I could hardly understand a word she said, and she obviously couldn't understand what I said either. She was a shorter heavy set Spanish woman with thick dark hair. I was recommended this salon as I was staying a couple blocks down at the Marriott Marquis and was told this was a good/cheap salon. I go in and it looks rather nice and professional so I take my chances. I tell the lady I would like a "Full head of Blonde Highlights" she then says "Oh, full head of blonde?!" I reply yes assuming she understands then sit down. I begin to read an article in a magazine while she starts. After a second I realize I do not hear any foils. This woman is brushing on bleach! I have short beautifully highlighted hair, that after SEVERAL expensive Keratin treatments and professional highlights I have finally gotten to the way I like it. She is already half way up the back of my head! It is by this time too late to turn back so I just think "Well this is a nice salon maybe Im in good hands"... NO. I wasnt. She ends up not leaving the bleach on long enough, then washes it out. It is YELLOW. She then continues to BRUSH THE SAME BLEACH ON MY WET ROOTS. She leaves that on for 15 minutes and goes and answers the phone, etc. Then she comes back, rinses me out, and my hair is now all the same wonderful yellow. At this point I had to speak up and said "Can you please go get a icy blue or violet toner for my hair? This looks horrible" She comes back with 2 examples asking which one it was (even though one clearly said "icy violet fixes yellow in bleached hair") I felt like I knew more than this lady and I am 18. She then cut my hair (unevenly) even though I asked for a one length bob, then continued to blow dry, and use a MENS BUZZER to cut my fly aways! It was about $100 total. All I wanted to do was get out of there. All my money spent on highlights in the past and keratin went down the drain. I could have done this to myself with a box. I had my gay guy friend (who is 17) fix it for $30 and it looks great. Jean Louis David should fire this idiot and use him instead. Maybe the other stylist are better, but this woman was out of her mind and ruined my hair.
wish I checked here before I went. If I could give NO stars that would be better. I went in for a blow out and spent over $40 on something I would have done better myself. The "stylist" insisted she knew exactly what I wanted but she sure didnt. She yanked my hair so hard she broke a brush and she used the wrong size brush to feather back the ends. I had to ask her three times to fix the front and she just kept asking me if I wanted hair spray. Do not waste your time or money.
DO NOT GO HERE - HORRIBLE AND RUDE PEOPLE.
I went there today, and had the worst experience ever. The girl who did my hair didnt event speak to me or ask me how I wanted my hair blow dried. The other hair stylist were doing their own hair and totally ignored the customers that came in.After a few minutes when one of the customer asked for their attention, both hair stylist said that they can put their name on the list and wait. Another hair stylist came and they had an argument in front of all resulting in the three customers leaving the place.
In the meantime my hair stylist ignored my request for the way I wanted my hair and messed my hair up. When I confronted her and told her that she did not do my hair the way I had asked her, she said if you put it up, it will be nice.
I told them off for being horrible and they didnt seem to care, and after reading the reviews, I see why.
DONT GO HERE, THEY ARE HORRIBLE
uneven haircut, inexperienced stylists. I went to the salon branch downtown near the WTC. I asked for a simple trim and some layers to my asymmetrical cut and had 2 stylists unsure how to do it and 3 stylists had to work on it by the end! It still came out uneven! They were pretty rude when I went back to have it fixed! The appointment also took over 2 hours!! I would not recommend this salon to ANYONE!
Do not go there!. I was there last month it was my first time going to this one on 61st I usually go to the one on 52nd and lexington but this Saida who she did my hair once was not there that day that I wanted to do my hair. So I said let me try this one out on 61st. I get in this blond lady I think she was the manager she is like charlie I think was his name will cut your hair and I am trying to talk to her to see who s good in who's hands I can fall so I can be satisfied. So I go to charles or charlie not really sure of his name and he looks at my hair I have long healthy hair and he started cutting my hair with a machine that men shave their head I was terrified the whole time I was there I was thinking what am getting my self into and since when they cut the hair with the machine is this a new way? That's where I saw that this guy has no knowledge of cutting hair. Anyone can cut the hair with the machine I mean you hold it and it cuts it self. I had horrible experiance do not go to this one at least because I guarantee you will be dissapointed and you will regret it for the amont of money you payed for it.
Stay...A...Way!!.
STAY...A..WAY!!!! I wish i could give this place a negative star...
worst haircut i have ever....EVER...received. the guy never even LOOKED at a pair of scissors. he used a comb and electric clippers. if i wanted that i would have gone to a barber shop! I asked that he "keep the length, but just 'neaten' up my hair".....and he took off 3times more than i wanted! A "salon"?! more like a "Saloon"!! Stay away from this "chain" if you value your hair style. it's going to take me months to get my hair back to the length and style it used to be before it was butchered by the Demon Barber of Fleet Street!
Lazy way to cut hair.. I have gone to various Jean Louis David salons over about 2 or 3 visits. I was always very disappointed and I am not completely sure why I kept returning. I know it is a discount place, but to cut hair with buzzer is just wrong. My hair has never recovered, it has been brittle and rough ever since. They say it is just the way they do it there, but it is the completely lazy and cop-out way to cut hair and I will never return. I almost did return until I came to this site and was reminded of why I hate them so much. There are other places that also cut hair with buzzers and they disgust me as well. The best place I have gotten a good and inexpensive haircut is Supercuts.
Buzz cut??. I went to Jean Louis David on Saturday for a quick trim of my long hair. Imagine my surprise when the stylist takes out huge scissors that look like kitchen shears to trim my bangs (which I am trying to grow out), then proceeds to trim the ends of my hair with a buzzer. Yup, a buzzer!!! It was really awkward - I kind of panicked and said "Are you going to cut my hair with that?" Her response was, 'this is a quick service salon and it's our technique." I honestly didn't know what to do, so I let her cut my hair when I really should have just walked out. Anyway, the whole thing took about 5 minutes and cost me $27. I have some long layers in my hair so there's no way she was able to trim or style this part of my hair considering the "technique" she used to cut my hair. The whole thing was very bizarre and I would not recommend going there at all!
