“. . . a great place.”
“Excellent haircut, with friendly service and a great atmoshphere”
“friendly place to get a great haircut at a great price with minimal wait time too.”
“Not only does Eddie and his team give the best haircuts around, but they are quick so you don't have to waste any time.”
I had a business meeting at the Cornell Weill Medical School and found this gem by searching on my phone. I walked in and after a short wait had a nice haircut and a straight razor shave on the back of my neck. The staff was very friendly and the price was fair. I will recommend to my friends who live in NY.
Eddies the best. By far a great experience. Great ambiance, great people. When I leave I'm completely rested and ready for the day. Very professional staff, all with great personalities. Always a fun visit.
Look no further. I came across Eddie's Haircut and Shave by chance one day on my way back from work. I had been looking for a new place to get a cut, and figured I would take a chance. That was four years ago and I have never looked back since. Eddie and his team of barbers are class acts. They are friendly, quick, and give a great haircut. If you want to treat yourself and really feel like a man, get yourself one of their famous straight razor shaves -- you won't regret it. The best part is, they do this all without being surly or pretentious -- unlike so many places in the city these days. If you're looking for a great cut in NYC at a fantastic price, this is the place to go. Anybody I've ever referred to this place has gotten hooked.
Outstanding Barber Shop .........
Eddies Haircut & Shave is the best Barber Shop my husband and my son been to. Eddie's Barner Shop not only give the outstanding haircuts but the place is clean and has great personal and friendly service.
When you walk in, you are greeted by all employees who have been practicing their trade for a long time and take pride in it. Eddie's barber shop has a hometown barber shop feel to it, where you can have a decent conversation with your barber but none of it feels forced.
Check it out you will not be disappointed.
Highly recommend it!!!!!
Best Barber in the city.
I used to get haircuts on Long Island and didn't think they could get better. Then I moved ot the city, tried Eddie's, and it completely changed my mind.
Not only does Eddie and his team give the best haircuts around, but they are quick so you don't have to waste any time.
Not only do you end up with a sick haircut, but if you get to know Eddie and recieve a cut, you will be dying laughing the whole time in your chair. Go see for youself.
Eddie's . . . An Exceptional Experience . . ..
Before Eddie there was Jack. I got my first haircut at ?Jack?s? in ?89/?90.
Jack?s was a man?s barber shop, a bit of a throw-back to an earlier, less complicated time. Good people and good haircuts . . . a great place. Later, my career took me out of the country for a number of years (during which time Eddie joined Jack?s team). On my trips home, I always looked forward to stopping by for a haircut and to catch-up . . . it was (and still is . . .) that kind of place. A little later Jack retired, and what was ?Jack?s? became ?Eddie?s.? Eddie has carried on the tradition and kicked it up a notch!! Eddie?s is kind of like ?Cheer?s? minus the beer (Eddie, if you?re listening and looking for ideas . . .). Eddie and his team are all first rate! My life is now split between the ?neighborhood? and Jersey . . . but no matter where I am, I honestly always make the trek in to Eddie?s, the place is just that special and the only place I go! *Always* an excellent haircut, a warm lather shave (neck), a warm towel to finish it off, and equally unique and exceptional, great people . . . you simply cannot beat it! Thank you Eddie!!
Authentic Haircut Experience. I've been going to Eddie's for over 10+ years and while the prices may have risen over the times, I feel the improved quality of service and overall haircut experience far exceeds and is well worth the cost. Since Eddie has taken over the shop, the new staff are friendly and talkative and keeping a good barber shop vibe/atmosphere. Adding to the old fashioned authentic clipping experience, each cut is followed up with fresh blade around the neck for a very fresh feeling; unlike those places that use buzzers. I get a shave every now and then when I want to treat myself (unfortunately a little less often these days...) and the straight razor shave is the tops...I have sensitive skin and they follow up with this block called Alum Block (I haven't been able to find in pharmacy yet) and leaves my skin with no irritation. Followed up with the hot towel, this place really takes the time to provide a quality haircut and barbershop feeling. A/A+
A lucky find in the city. I came across Eddie's by chance since I live more than 15 blocks away. This happened in mid-2007, and I always get back to Eddie's for my haircut--and I treat myself to a shave too. It doesn't matter which barber I get...they're all good. I'm from a much smaller town and was shocked when I got to New York by the haircut prices when I got here. I had been looking for a barber shop that DIDN'T charge New York prices....and that had the look and feel of an owner-operated place. I like the welcome I get at Eddie's, the great haircut and the low cost. I consider it one of my lucky finds.
a shave above all.. came in there for the first time this past monday. (1/12/09) and got a hair cut. while i was getting my hair cut i noticed the barber to my left was giving someone a shave, i had time to waste so i asked for one also. what a shave it was it wasn't my first straight razor shave but it was the best! clean, smooth and refreshing. the haircut was really good as well and it was a GREAT price. $23 dollars for the haircut and $23 for the shave. I'm definitely going back there. check it out. you wont be disappointed
Excellent haircut, with friendly service and a great atmoshphere.
I just moved into the neighborhood and did a quick search on barber shops/ hair salons in the neighborhood. I saw Eddie's website on google and it looked like a good place to get a cut, so I tried it out. The service was great, the atmosphere was great (true barber shop feel), and most importantly, the haircut was great. To top it off the haircut, my neck was shaved with a straight razor blade, and then my face was washed with a hot towel.
Overall, a great experience, I highly reccomend it.
