The Scene
The airy, bi-level New York salon of Englishman John Frieda, a household name across the pond, boasts everything one would expect from a celebrity stylist and product king. A hip, buzzing atmosphere mixed with the perfect level of attentiveness make the place accessible to celebrities and local folk alike; famous fans include Julia Roberts, Faith Hill, Bjork and Kate Hudson.
The Services
Since opening his first salon in 1976, Frieda has become synonymous with wearable, cutting-edge style, user-friendly techniques and results-oriented products. He's also known for his staff; dubbed the "House of Experts," Frieda's much-copied stylists and colorists are perennial favorites of fashion magazines, film sets and A-list celebs. (His Los Angeles salon's Sally Hershberger has created many classic do's, including Meg Ryan's famous shag.) One staffer has even been named the "Best Blow-out in NYC," so clients are assured top quality, no matter what service they choose.

Focus is the first word I would use to describe Ty Holbrook. I've never had someone focus so hard on my haircut. The final result is amazing. Truely amazing! I highly recomend Ty for your next haircut. Dawn Resner

I heard about Ty through a friend in LA. I was told Ty listens to what a client wants and needs. Boy did he!!!!!! I approached Ty telling him I was interested in cutting al my hair off. Ty reassured me I was at the right place. Ty told me we were going to take it slow, walking me through every step. He told me he was going to cut half what I was wanting to cut first. Reason being first so I didn't freak out and secondly so I was sure I really wanted to cut it all off. Thank god he did!! He was so right, the length he cut it at first was right on! Bottom line Ty listens and thats what matters in a hairdresser. Do yourself a favor go see TY HOLBROOK!

The absolute best stylist/colorist duo in NYC has to be Fabien and Martine. Fabien cut my hair for twelve years, and Martine colored it. I love you both.
