I began renting videos at 5th Dimension shortly after it opened. Back in those days, there were no DVD's (Wow, am I THAT old?), so it was tapes or movie theaters. Allen and Diana, the owners of 5th Dimension, were wonderful about knowing my taste in films and they remembered my customer # even when I didn't! They don't mind when I come in with my dogs and they have an excellent selection for a small store. I usually buy a block of 10 films for $27.50-a great price these days-and there is no expiration date for usage. Allen also repairs and services video and audio equipment. He really does a good job. He's fast and the price is right. They offer free delivery, and if there is any problem with a DVD or a tape, they rush another one right to you. Around 10 years ago, there was a fire in their building so they had to shut down and renovate for a few months. I really missed them because there was no other place in the neighborhood where I felt so welcomed and catered-to. I hope they stay here in Yorkville for a long, long time!
Pros: Great hours, owners also work there and remember you and what you like. Great video packages. Expert repair and service of audio/video equipment at a great price.
