What People Are Saying About Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital
Simply the best...
by JennArias
Our dog Peanut became a patient at Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital in September 2011, she came in for her annual check-up and I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the office and the state of the art equipment. Dr. Meleleo and the vet tech staff are equally amazing, they are gentle, and patient with nervous owners and most importantly Peanut is always happy to see them.
In late February peanut started acting funny and ended up being diagnosed with diabetes. We could not be happier with the care and attention Dr. Meleleo and his team provide. From one on one education about delivering insulin shots and obtaining blood glucose readings to simple diet advice Dr. Meleleo makes every effort to be available to us, by phone or email. Additionally the online pet portal is great for tracking vaccinations, etc. If you are looking for a fantastic and caring Vet for your pet, you have come to the right place, you will not be disappointed.
Do not hesitate to take your pet to Dr. Meleleo!

My two year old rescued Yorkie/Bichon was back and forth to various Veterinarians for lethargy, lack of appetite and vomiting. My husband and I remembered Dr. Maleleo who worked at Bay Street Animal Hospital. We called there, and it was no surprise to us that they had no idea where he was. We found out that he opened the Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital, and although it is quite a distance from our house, we brought our dog there. Through a simple blood test we found out that Baci's liver was not functioning properly. Dr. Meleleo put him on supplements and vitamin enriched food. Baci was back to his old self almost immediately. I am so thankful that we tracked Dr. Meleleo down because a few years ago, my sisters's rescued Yorkie had to be put down at three years old due to liver failure. Dr. Meleleo explained in detail the illness and the treatment. He even draws diagrams, if need be. In the past, at other Veterinarian offices I felt that I was being charged unnecessarily for tests that were not needed. Do not hesitate to use Dr. Meleleo. He is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and he has an immaculate, state of the art facility, with a friendly caring staff.

Kind and Caring

I recently changed vet's after using the same office for 25 years. Dr Meleleleo has been very kind and caring. He explains all that is being doen and lays out all options. He also lets you know what something will cost and an alternative. His office is immaculate. He seems to really enjoy being with the animals. Also he seems very knowledgeable and professional. I am very happy with the care we have received thus far.

I recently adopted a 12 week old puppy named Jake from a shelter. A couple of days later, he becam sick. Knowing that I would be adopting, I began interviewing veteranarians to find the right one for our newest family member. I wanted somewhere that had state-of-the-art technology, highly trained doctor and staff, extensive office hours and most improtantly, I needed to feel comfortable with the doctor who would be treating Jake. Well, I found that in Dr. Meleleo and Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital in Tottenville.
Dr. Meleleo, immediately knew what was wrong with Jake and pescribed the necessary medicine. Less than a week later he was his old self, jumping and playing and HEALTHY. We are very grateful to Dr. Meleleo and the staff at PPAH.
Based on our experience, we would happily recommend PPAH to all of our friends who need timely and professional care for that special pet in your life.
