The Scene
There are two distinct personalities to the place: The loud, seemingly always-crowded bar with hanging paper decorations and dim lighting, and the two main dining areas, where the noise level and decor is notably more subdued. Service is swift, competent and helpful, though sometimes less than subtle about certain expectations, like upgrading to a double order of guacamole.
The Food
Order the guacamole--it's quite good and made tableside with fresh lime, cilantro and jalapeno. Pork taquitos are great, but the shrimp and tuna seviche is hit-or-miss--disappointing when the tuna is a bit past its prime. Among the entrees, choose the stellar mole--deep, thick and chocolatey--blanketing tender chicken or poured over a chicken enchilada rather than the dry arroz con pollo. The chili rellenos, filled with a surprising combo of spinach, raisins and pine nuts, topped with herbed goat cheese, are also outstanding. For dessert, the tres leches is great.

So, I went here on a date. She had an enchalada dish with shrimp and i had somethign from the grill. My dish consisted of a skewer with chroizo sausage and beef, they probably used half a chroizo... So all in all it was 1 skweer with 4 beef cubes and 3 pieces of chroizo. For starters of course we had an order of guac, asked for it to be made spicy which was ok, they made it table side. We each had 1 drink, mine a beer and she had a frozen concoction that was not bad. All in all, with tip the bill was 2 dollars shy of $100. I am very big on money these days, btu have no problem shelling it out for a great eatery; after all, I'm a true food lover! Bottom line is this, I only wish I had been before so i could have gone DOWNTOWN to a much better establishment such as Mole or Mercadito where we would have had much more bing for the buck food, ambiance, and money wise. Hey, even dos caminos woudl have been better! Sorry Rosa mexicano, but aside from the 2 stars for the service, you guys stink!

I've been here once, not to say that the food was bad. The experience was so-so. I went with some pretty let's say experienced critics of food and they were unhappy about some menu items that were missing. In any case I think this is a nice place. Interesting setting.

Rosa Mexicano and I started our relationship in 1996 and have been loyal to one another ever since. From the moment I arrive I know to start off with a La Suprema or two. A great atmosphere accompanied by delicous drinks, atmosphere and very friendly staff. Priced well and is great for meeting with clients or hosting special events.

What to Drink:
The house margarita is a tasty blended pomegranate concoction, but there's also homemade sangria and michelada, a classic Mexican drink made with lime juice, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco, topped off with beer.
