The second location of Dr. Marion Shapiro's mesotherapy practice (the first is in New Jersey,) this warm, relaxed office and its friendly, accommodating staff will help soothe even the most nervous of patients. Decorated with quirky art and pieces from the Doctor's collection of Victorian beaded purses, the rooms have all the cleanliness and efficiency of a medical practice without any of the sterility.
The Services
Practiced internationally for over 50 years, mesotherapy has just recently caught-on Stateside; Shapiro, an ER doctor with over twenty years' experience, was trained in France and has already performed over 1000 procedures. The innovative technique injects FDA-approved medication and vitamins into the mesoderm, the layer under the skin which holds fat; fat is then literally melted away and passed out of the body. Unlike liposuction, mesotherapy is a non-invasive (the microscopic needles are barely felt) and more cost-effective way to treat cellulite and target areas or drop dress sizes. Straightforward and very approachable, Shapiro is sensitive to the issue, realistic about results and holds her practice to the highest of both medical and ethical standards.

I went to see Dr. Shapiro to see how she could help me loose my love handles and firm up my stomach (two kids and a busy schedule have left me little time to go to the gym!) - and I am a very satified customer. We did a mesotherapy/velasmooth combination treatment (a few times) and then after I lost the inches I needed I trusted her and tryed the Arasys treatment too. This machine is way cool! You just sit there and it excercises your muscles for you. My husband loves my firm midsection!

Dr. Shapiro has quite a scam going. First of all do not get injected by her with perlane or anything else unless you like looking like a monkey or that you have lumps in your cheeks. Your face will be completely distorted. There is a doctor in west orange who you should see he is at reflections! I have seen his work it is great. By the way there is a reason she does not have any before and after pictures of it. she has quite a line of fabrication in her sales pitch don't believe her! by the way when she makes a mistake on your face, she does not make any adjustment in the price. Beware of her!

I found going to this office to be an awful experience. Dr. Shapiro's personal office was filled with ostentatious pieces of art and each piece reminded me of how much money she was making off of women's insecurities. This only became more clear when she suggested that I needed not just mesotherapy at a cost of $550 dollars a session, but also Velasmooth (this was of a similar cost and offered no permanent results.) Her cold demeanor was off-putting, so I decided to "think about" the velasmooth. I am so glad that I did not give that office another dime. If you do not cancel your appointment within a specified amount of time they will charge you the full cost of the visit. However, when they made a scheduling error the office manager was obnoxious to me ( it should be said that she was the only rude staff member, the rest were very friendly.) Don't waste your money with this one...there are far friendlier and more accredited doctors elsewhere. She only sees her patients as the next golden goose to pay for her gaudy art collection.
