The desserts shine here. They hand make them all, and will do special orders of just about anything (I think they are cake designers by trade). I am blown away by her attention to detail. Their muffins (blueberry, cranberry-orange, and lemon poppy seed last time I stopped by) are packed with fresh fruit and natural ingredients, and sprinkled with large sugar crystals. I'm not a big muffin eater, but I inhaled it and wanted to go back for more. Their strawberry tarts pile the strawberries atop cream custard in a pastry shell. It's then sprinkled with almonds, lightly coated with a candy topping to give it a slight crunch, and topped with whipped cream. These desserts are masterful.

Since moving to NJ, I've missed many things about NYC, Dessert Delivery NY among them. So, I made it a point to pop in yesterday when I was in the city with a friend. Still incredible. I ordered one each of their white chocolate and chocolate chip cookies (still huge, chewy, and decadent), white chocolate lemon truffle torte (still like eating clouds of bliss), cheesecake (something new to try!), and Joann even plopped two chocolate covered macaroons in with my order. I split some of it yesterday with a friend and saved the rest of it for today when I meet a few friends for brunch. I'll certainly be telling them to save room for dessert! This was my first experience with macaroons and they were absolutely delicious! Thank you Joann and Sam for providing the consistent quality (both in goods and service) that you do. Any smart tourists would do some research and make sure to come to your bakery instead of wasting time at the overly hyped Magnolia or Buttercup bakeries, which are either full of cranky staff (Buttercup), greedy customers (Magnolia), or both!
Pros: Joann, Sam, and the fruits of their labor.
Cons: They're not in NJ!
