Editorial Review for Prada – by Jennifer Olvera
The Scene
Bask in Prada's sophisticated minimalist decor and less-is-more approach to fashion. Employees and the cell-toting clientele walk the catwalk walk and talk the inside-trader talk. Don't dress down, or you'll probably get a suspicious look from security guards or sleek sales clerks. And when selecting, remember: Black is always in.
The Goods
Prada is a high-class, trend-setting source of fashionable footwear and clothing. Choose your head-turning outfit from best-dressed-worthy dresses, L.A.-cool shades, and mod leather shoes for men and women. Make a statement with such clothing details as deluxe patent tassels, fur linings and ornamented hoods. Coats, dresses, suits, skirts and slacks come in a seasonally changing, on-the-mark color palette, with seriously shocking price tags. Luxuriously soft leather jackets and chic travel bags are perfect for your weekend in Paris, keeping you stylish wherever you go to hobnob.

Well, i've been here 5 times and never left empty handed. They always have what i'm looking for or i make sure i get something else. The trick to this store (or should i say all pradas) is, if you want to get something for any giving season, buy before it even starts. Forget about sales. I've giving up on the "can you call the other stores to see who has it?" question, because they never have it anyways. Besides i know a couple of places online that always have what i need. The only down turn to it is that you have to pay up a little.

I was SHOCKED with the way I was treated by an employee at the Prada on 57th. I asked a sales associate to try a pair of shoes. I waited several minutes and in walked another women. The women saw the shoe in question sitting next to me and asked another sales associate for the same shoe in the same size I had asked for. The woman's sales associate quickly found the shoe, in the size and color I had asked for. Along came my sales associate saying the shoes were sold out. She said that she could get them from another store and have it shipped to me... for an additional $20! Asked if she could waive the shipping cost, she was extreamely curt. I asked to speak to the manager and she said no. I found the shoes at another store and had them shipped for free.
