Serving Authentic Italian Dishes in the heart of Mid-town Manhattan

Wouldn't go back again. Took a client for lunch, party of five. The room was extremely loud with little ambiance. The wait staff was mediocre at best, absent, with no personality as if they were doing you a favor. The food was a level below mediocre. The appetizers were embarrassing and mediocre with the exception of the calamari. For entrees the veal Milanese was overcooked and old with a dark grey tone to the meat, and the breading was thick and salty...terrible. The chicken and fish entrees were also either undercooked or overcooked and poorly seasoned. Although our guests were polite looking at there half full plates at the end of lunch said a lot. I'm not sure I've been to a worse Italian restaurant in the city, clearly living off a past reputation and location.

A Must for Any Special Occassion. Food and Staff were phenomenal! I am a huge fan of home made pasta, and Bice had the best in New York. You must see for yourself!

A bad lunch - underwhelming food and terrible service. My brother, his girlfriend and I went for a late lunch on Saturday. The design and look of the place is great, so we felt ok about splurging on entrees that average around $40.

Between us we had the minestrone soup, sauteed spinach, baked eggplant and bowtie pasta with salmon.

The food was average at best. The waiter was perpetually absent (he took an order for a second glass of wine but never came back) and the bill ballooned to $180 when you factor in tip (though looking back on it I don't know why we included any).

This is the first time I have ever been motivated to write a review. My advice, go to Sbarros.

Overpriced and worst service- Bice is a bust. Overpriced for what it was. The Baked Eggplant was so salty and had no taste but that. The service was anything but attentive. The waiter never came over to see if we wanted another glass of wine or if everything was okay.

The lobster pasta had absolutely no taste and the chicken breast my friend order was like a hockey puck.

The waiter never came back over so my friend went over to the manager and he took care of the bill- which was kind. The waiter might still be missing in action. I would never go back there or recommend it to anyone.

Bice is a bust

wonderful dinner & wine pairing. the service was excellent and all of the staff were extremely attentive. i wasn't sure what to order for a wine and asked our waiter to please recommend something based upon the menu selection. the entire table (party of 4) were not disappointed. definitely plan to go back again soon.

Wonderful experience. Bice NY combines a beautiful room with an excellent menu. The service is as smooth as the style of the room. Service is never hurried. Everything on the menu is fresh and expertly prepared

The wine list is the only reason I don't rate Bice higher. It is not extensive and really doesn't have any thing below $60 (but several offerings should be.)

This is the best of the Bice's I have visited

WAY too expensive for what is offered. The food is just fine for an Italian restaurant and the ambience is pretty nice but it definitely was not enough to justify charging $23 for Penne Arrabbiata (for example) when I could get the same great taste at a comparable restaurant for half the price. You may disagree but there is a comparable Italian restaurant called Pescatore on 2nd Avenue (Midtown) and it charges $12 for Linguini alla Vongole; Bice charges $29. Even if you think Bice is worth the more expensive price, I can't get over the fact that their entree prices are comparable to many of the top restaurants in the city. Gotham Bar and Grill come to mind. And yes, I've checked their prices and the lunch entrees range from $24-$28. I just don't think Bice is worth the money you pay.

A midtown Resturant with its own energy. I have been going to Bice for a few years and I find it to be one of the more exciting places in midtown. The food is great and it arrives promptly if you are in a hurry you can have a wonderful meal in one hour ,if not you can take your time and enjoy. The menu is expansive and there is something that will please everyone. I really enjoy the Parpardella it is just fantastic. The wines by the glass are as good as it gets in midtown. The staff is extreamly pleasant and attenitive. The people that frequent the resturant daily add an international flavor which makes Bice exytremely different from any other place in midtown. If you like a place that has its own energy,it is a must do on you list for a visit to New york. The people watching also can be a benifit if that is your thing.

Good restaurant, but nothing extraordinary. We went to Bice for Restaurant Week and found the overall experience to be very good.

However the food was good but nothing special. I had to send back my veal as it was raw in the middle. Even cooked through it was a bit bland and only a lot of fresh pepper made it tasty. The Tiramisu was very good and that was the highlight of my meal. The regular menu is over-priced.

The restaurant itself is a great dining experience, large and very active, often at times the room was so loud that I could not hear my girlfriend from across the table. The service is slow but very good. Overall I would recommend it but don't be in a rush and be prepared to spend some money for dinner.
