Michael Jackson was the regular..
Just had a wonderful "June Special" lobster & sushi kaiseki dinner - was an excellent deal.
By our table there was a photo displayed with message "in memory of Michael Jackson" - his photo taken right at the restaurant with owners (?). I may want to order what he used to like next time.

Editorial Review.
This midtown Japanese spot for fine dining serves everything from Kobe steak to unagi to the deadly delicious fugu.

Real fresh and tasty.
I came here for lunch before a major appointment because it just happened to be a sushi place close by. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Definitely a great lunch, the service was attentive. The busboy was not so much, I think he was actually trying to rush me at a point when I was not in the mood! Other than that, the food was excellent. They have these closed off table for lunch meetings and the like as well. I would definitely go back.

Great Sukiyaki, Fugu (Blow fish), Tempra, soba.
If you want to eat real Japanese food, this is it. Don't need to go other Japanese place unless you want to enjoy the decor, atomosphare. Any food is wonderful. If you are lucky, you will see a lot of high profiles.

Great food, great service.
I usually don't write reviews, but when I saw 8.9 score, I felt like I had to say something. This place is arguably the best Japanese restaurant in New York. 40 years in business can't be wrong. The most remarkable thing is the consistency; I have dined at the restaurant so many times over 15 years and I have never been disappointed by the food they served nor the service. Quick note: Make sure you have clean socks on if you want to use the private tatami room!

Delicious! Authentic!.
Having been to Japan many times and having had some of the world's finest sushi and Japanese cuisine, it's hard to find a good Japanese restaurant in NY. Nippon is one of the rare outstanding exceptions. The food is authentic and amazing. Their home grown soba noodle is easily the best in NY, no comparison. Looking forward to going their again in the near future!!!
