“The wine was terrific, the food delicious and the service attentive yet fun.”
“Every bite of food was truly delicious from the wafers and pea puree served with drinks to the appetizers to the heavenly pasta to the excellent entrees and scrumptious desserts.”
“The wine was terrific, the food delicious and the service attentive yet fun.”
“The tasting menu was good but for the price way too much pasta and few meat or seafood selections.”
“The wait staff is courteous, the rooms are intimate and the menu looked great.”
“The location isn't terrific, but that's a small criticism for a great restaurant.”
“The after dinner tasty sweat treats were divine - A for effort, but with so many other choices in town, the restaurant needs to do better on the layout and food quality to garner a return visit.”
“The service was impeccable.”
“The menu was overpriced and the service pushy.”
“Well, after a long wait, 30 minutes, for our 8:00 reservation we were seated at a great table upstairs which really beats the main level due to the "Tokyo Subway" effect of the waitstaff shuffling about the tables.”
Lidia Bastianich is best known as a celebrity chef, whose TV show helped teach America to cook Italian food. Felidia is her flagship restaurant and what's little known and less appreciated is just how regional the cooking is here. The Bastianiches originate in Italian Istria, the northeastern most part of Italy, an area that owes as much to Croatia and Austria as to Italy per se. You won't find dishes dominated by spicy peppers or tomato sauce here; this is a more refined, singular cuisine and that's what I value about it the most.
True Italian Cuisine!. After months of walking by Felidia on my way to and from work, I finally decided to make myself a reservation. I couldn't of been happier with my decision. Everything was excellent from the service to the food! I can't get the Pear and Pecorino filled ravioli out of my head! I had the tuna and my husband had the manzo. Both were delicious. And the pecan tarte we had for dessert was out of this world! I will definitely be returning!
Love love love!. What a great dinner last night at Felidia. Stopped in for a drink with some coworkers and ended up staying for dinner. Everything was lovely including the handmade chocolate ravioli and the most devine lamb dish I've had in years. Can't wait to return. Perfect for valentine'd day.
Just raking in the cash b/c of Lydia's name-PASS on this one.
Service was very sleepy! Tasted and approved the wine and when the next bottle was introduced a fresh glass wasn't...lazy! The house wine by the glass is not drinkable! The Alaskan King Crab salad had plenty of cartilage in it. The waiters were very sloppy with the service ie. they didn't have enough tasting plates for everyone (7 guests), the crumber guy took forever...maybe new employee? Seems that this place is a cash cow. Average age=55+

Best Italian Food Yet !. I've been to many Italian restaurants but Felida has to be one of the best. Their ravioli with pear was great, the most delicious, freshest whole branzino I've had in years. Cant wait for an occasion to go back.
Best Italian in NYC by far!. I was blown away by how delicious my dinner was at Felidia last week. Everything I ordered was incredible. I never knew a green bean salad would be worth writing about but it is! LOVED the pastas, my husband and I split two as a mid course. Truly amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
Extraordinary!. We are a group of friends who have traveled extensively and eaten at great restaurants in the U.S. and Europe, and we thought this was one of our best experiences. We cannot imagine how other reviewers had a negative experience here. Every bite of food was truly delicious from the wafers and pea puree served with drinks to the appetizers to the heavenly pasta to the excellent entrees and scrumptious desserts. Staff was efficient and friendly, and even gave us a card which included printed information on the wonderful wines we had with dinner. We all had a very special time, and I tip my hat to Lidia and her team. I appreciate every detail being attended to as well as the concern for the highest quality food and service. Thanks and congratulations.
Best Italian in New York City!. The most authentic and delicious Italian meal I've had outside of Italy. I enjoyed a great tasting menu along with a bottle of Lidia's wine. The staff was courteous and didn't rush us. I will definitely go back.
A big letdown !.
My son's girlfriend gave us a gift certificate to this resturant about 2 years ago.We live in Brooklyn and frequent all the greatest Italian eateries there. My wife is Italian as is her mother and father. My youngest son is 26 and a great cook.I have a passion for fabulous Italian food.My wife is the greatest cook in the world. She cooks all authentic Italian food and is also the greatest baker bar none.We were very excited to visit Felidias; we went for the special-value three course dinner menu. Her TV show is very good and we have all watched it for years.
Now the review....her wait staff is not knowlegeable, especially about the value menu .... her food was the worst I've ever had.....and the minimalist desert was a disaster. It left my lips swollen and my stomach with cramps.WHERE IS THIS AN ITALIAN RESTURANT ? Nothing Italian there. The biggest disapointment ever.Visited on 02/17/09
Fantastic Italian. One word: AMAZING! I had the most incredible meal with my husband here last week. We feasted on the freshest Crudo I've had in years and then enjoyed a tasting of their homemade pastas. We indulged and ordered a shaving of the black winter truffle over our porcini tagliatelle- I can?t tell you how delicious it was! My husband is from Umbria and he said the flavors brought him back to his childhood. We were made to feel at home at home with perfect but non intrusive service. This is our new special place.
