  66. The food isn't all that great, the seating is cramped, and the staff takes their time.
  67. But its one of NYC's faces that people love to glorify because its such a NYC thing.
  68. Bottom line: Expect the hostess to be a little rude.

  1. The desserts are great, but overpriced.
  2. The food here is great, and the portions are more tnan generous.
  3. The ice cream is the best in the area and the portions huge.
  4. recommend this place and the wait is worth it.
  5. The dessert prices and overall prices are reasonable.
  6. And, although the food may seem overpriced to some, the portions are large and the food is very tasty.
  7. The portions are huge!
  8. Serendipity was incredibly overrated, (the decor was not "whimsical" at all, and the food was way below average, as well as being very very overpriced!
  9. The prices are expensive but the portions are large.
  10. The frozen hot chocolate was good but pricey.
  11. the thumbs up - huge and delicious deserts.
  12. I'm sure I'm not alone with being in shock of how expensive dining out has become in the last several months.
  13. My husband signed on the check "overpriced awful food" and the waiter wasn't even offended, he was actually cracking up.
  14. Btw, the price is ridiculous, what kind of an ice cream would be prized at 10 dollar?
  15. Things here are expensive, so if you really want to try the place out, have dessert, which really is wonderful and HUGE!
  16. By the way, I order a cheeseburger which for 13 dollars was really small.
  17. The ambience, the fantastic deserts, the decor all of it was straight out of the movie and by far worth one if not several trips!
  18. It did, however, take 30 minutes for our waiter to take our order, but he was pleasant enough and the food was good and not terribly expensive.
  19. little overrated, the food's not going to win any (legit) 4**** awards any time soon, but the desserts are amazing and the atmosphere makes it worth visiting.
  20. think that the prices are reasonable!
  21. While the wait is long, and the waitstaff is a bit pushy, this restaurant is completely worth the wait.
  22. We went and had the frozen hot chocolate which they are known for, It was fantastic and worth the wait.
  23. The desserts were excellent but not worth the hassle, crowded environment or PRICE.
  24. The food is way overpriced and not good, but the desserts are to die for and this is why this place is still going strong.
  25. There were children everywhere, the restaurant is terribly crowded with loud, subtly obnoxious people, and finally, not all that cheap considering what you were getting.
  26. The first time I went there Iwas expecting a magical experience, I was met with a near claustophbic attack due to bottleneck congestion in the foyer, andso so food, a huge frozen hot chocolate that frankly I could easily make at homeand a bill for 78.00.
  27. And the portions are good if you are Andre the giant.
  28. great nyc dessert joint, strictly, be prepared to wait about an hour and a half for a table, don't be roped in to buying overpriced tourist trinkets or the mediocre diner food, eat dinner at another place, make a trip here, stick to the abundant spectacul
  29. But skip the overpriced entrees and appetizers; the dessert portions are gigantic and filling.
  30. more like poor diner quality (though it cost about 15 bucks) The FHC is 8 or 9 bucks, but its HUGE and soooo good.
  31. The Food, as well as desserts, is wonderful and served in abundant portions (and worth the prices).
  32. The food was good, I ordered omelette, it was huge, I ordered frozen hot chocolate.
  33. One of my favorite spots is this gem of a place where the food way over weighs the prices.
  34. However; all desserts are amazing with huge portions.
  35. The portions are very big.
  36. The food is somewhat expensive.
  37. They have great food, and yes, it is over priced, but its so good that you end up not caring.
  38. Deserts are affordable, but only for few menues.
  39. Obviously the frozen hot chocolate is amazing, but the rest of the food is tasty, but overpriced.
  40. The generous portion of Frozen hot chocolate was yummy but not the fantasy it is advertised to be.

  1. The long line isn't fun, but stick it out.
  2. It is not a bad place to have these monster deserts, however from making reservations, they are rude and the actual service is slow.
  3. Of course it took another 30 minutes to order and get the desserts, but at that point, I guess I was even surprised it did not take anymore time.
  4. The service is friendly and generally helpful, although a little slow at times.
  5. It then took 30 minutes until we could order our food, and nobody warned us about the fact that it would take another 45 minutes to prepare the Curried casserole!
  6. decided to order the famous foot long hotdogs which was decent, not great.
  7. Service was a little slow, but given the small space and the crowd of people that kept coming it wasn't that bad.
  8. It did, however, take 30 minutes for our waiter to take our order, but he was pleasant enough and the food was good and not terribly expensive.
  9. The staff was not happy to see me at all, half the items on the menu were sold out and the cappiccino was folgers left in a kettle too long and covered up with milk and a dash of cinnimon.
  10. This is a wonderful restaurant just make sure you have reservations a long time in advance.
  11. Our waiter, on the contrary, was very nice and gave us free french fries, since we had to wait so long (and we never inquired about the wait; he took it upon himself to apologize).
  12. have been going to this place since i was 5 (18 now) and i can say it is really one of my FAVORITES from the sandwhichs to the foot long hot dog(my fav) even the frozen hot chocolate i LOVE this place!
  13. mean, yeah, the service is generally a little slow and/or unfriendly, and yes, you have to wait.
  14. To make a long story short, we were very impressed with the service and food, (good enough for 5 subsequent trips each year) and we even met Mr. Steven Bruce, who owns the place, and he seated us at the same table that the movie was filmed at.
  15. The service was slow, the food so-so.
  16. While the wait is long, and the waitstaff is a bit pushy, this restaurant is completely worth the wait.
  17. The restaurant was cramped and the service was slow.
  18. Serendipity is always a ridiculous long wait.
  19. Our waiter was very nice, however, he was very much overworked, thus, the service was incredibly slow!

Absolutely out of this world!

We tried Serendipity 3 for the first time and it was absolutely out of this world! We ordered the famous frrrrozen hot chocolate and the Cinnamon Fudge Sundae. I was so happy that my husband and I decided to order to the Cinnamon Fudge Sundae because it was unlike anything else I'v ever eaten, it was out of this world scrumptious. The BEST dessert that we've ever had. The Cinnamon ice cream was delicious was an amazing surprise, it was absolutely the best and well worth our 15 bucks. I can't wait to go back!!
