Favorite Bar. Kate Kearney's was my favorite bar before it closed down. The last time I went there they said it was going to be relocating but I haven't found out where. Does anyone know if Kate Kearney's will be opening again and when/where?
I wish I could have only found it sooner!. Great Bartenders, Great Company! What could anyone else ask for? They have days when they are not full and most other times where you feel maximum capacity has been breached. But I assure you, if you are looking to have a great time this is the place to be.
A nice but ordinary bar. At first things looked dire. It was the Mets 2nd night playoffs. So the bar was full of... er... fans. Luckily we found a table in front and were able to crowd our group around it. The bar-staff was friendly and helpful, though there was no real table service. The food was pretty standard fried barfare, but it wasn't awful. On a quieter, non-Met night the place might have been a good one to kick back for a beer-- though the music seems a bit too loud. -- Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers
The best Local =). I have yet to have a bad time whenever I'm at Kate's. Bartenders are insanely friendly and always there to fill you up and even give you free shots/beer/refills before you know it. I've been with just one friend and with a large group- we can always enjoy ourselves. Everyone is jovial and the food is deeelicious. It's always a great time at Kate's.
Good Place. My favorite spot to get annhilated, everyone is friendly, great neighborhood bar, staff is very courteous. I like beer.
Home away from Home. I'm not from New York. I worked in Manhattan from June of 2004 until March of 2005. From the first time I walked into Kate Kearney's, I was treated like a valued customer. It became MY PLACE! Everyone who works there is terrific. From the love of my life, the beautiful and intelligent Lauren, to young and gorgeous Andrea, to sexy Tara, the man of the house, Marshall and Devin, the strange guy behind the bar, you can't ask for a better place to hang out. Without a doubt the best bar in the area.
Mixed Opinion!.
Was at one time a fan of this place...The Staff is friendly with the exception of one or two bartenders.
Lately this "so called" Irish-pub has a bit of an identity crisis...one night you can encounter a FRAT crowd and the next an over 50 age group.
Okay atmosphere...Never count on seeing the same patrons week after week.
Food service is a little on the slow side.Decent Burgers though.
Awesome Happy Hour. I have to say their happy hour of 1/2 price beers (on tap and bottle) and well drinks, is well worth the 5-8pm time- Service was quick and friendly. Plenty of bartendars to keep the flow of people moving. Definitely worth a visit! I liked that that had coat rack in the front to hang your stuff instead of hanging them on backs of chairs or on the floor. Lots of single men coming in for happy hour, it definitely cleared out after 8pm.
New Owners. There's a review from March which complains about the service- I think it's important to note that Kate Kearney's is under new management and it has turned itself around in a big way. Half price happy hour draws a fun, good-looking, and friendly crowd almost all week and the staff is excellent. This place is a keeper.
neighborhood place. I live across the street. Very good burgers, good draught beer and cheap drinks. It has just been renovated and now has a big flat screen and more seating area. Golden Tee, Pool, and darts. Definitely makes the recommended list.
