Editorial Review for Scores – by Jordan Stolper

In Short
One stage and a relatively small seating area create a more personal experience than at many strip bars. The bar area is equipped with a pole and a girl to straddle it, while a full-service restaurant is in another part of the club. Businessmen with expense accounts and occasional celebrities watch dancers go from cocktail dresses to G-strings. Lap dances and backrubs are available, but for a bachelor blowout, rent the Executive Club.

I visit Scores few times a year when I have some quests to show around. I used to consider Scores as one of the Landmarks of NYC. I say used to because that quality no longer exists. I can accept bad service or sour experience once or maybe twice but after the third time I'm confident that Scores is not where it used to be. I used to like Scores, because it was elegant. Service was elegant, dancers were elegant. Now it is not like that. Those are the common glitches that I experienced in my last visits. - It was really hard to get a drink. Service was, by all means, terrible. Ordering the drink and getting it took too much time. - Once I got wrong drink and once server dropped the drink on the floor (which is fine, accidents happen) but I got charged on both occasions, tip automatically included (!). As I reminded the server about the accidents, II was told by the server that she knows but they already charged the card and she is sorry. Drinks are over expensive, beverage service is terrible. You don't just go Scores for drinks of course, but there is notable decrease in professionalism of the dancers. There used to be professional dancers that you cannot take your eyes from the stage. Now, mostly average girls trying to dance. Basic economics, if they lower the price of their overcharged drinks, they can sell more drinks and improve their revenue. Than they will have more quests and they can have the option to be selective in their customers. Professional servers are as important as dancers. I no longer go Scores. I may give an other shot in couple months but if it is the same, I won't last more than 20 minutes in there and will never visit. Cheers

Pros: None anymore

Cons: Bad service (beverage), unprofessional dancers

A couple weeks ago I ended a serious relationship. Instead of rebounding on some innocent girl, I did the gentlemanly thing and went to Scores. It was a miracle. I walked in feeling like my life was over, and left practically whistling and feeling light as a bird. My wallet sure was lighter! This is the most expensive club in NYC. A Coke costs $10 bucks, and even the guy who swiped my credit card wanted a $20 tip! But the overall experience was fantastic. The girls made a fuss over me and their lap dances were just phenomenal. $20 a song, and they sometimes threw in an extra song. The conversations were almost as much fun. I met a blond from Colombia who spoke fluent English, Spanish, and Portuguese; then a brunette from Rhode Island with beautiful brown eyes who studied criminal psychology talked about everything from proving criminal intent in first degree murder to hair-raising stories about her exes that made me feel a whole lot better by comparison. I also had a dance from a Jamaican with caramel skin who was so aggressive that I thought she was going to wrestle me into the VIP room! Then came a redhead from Russia with a great body. By the way, there are 15-20 girls dancing everywhere in the club at any time, and they rotate constantly. You can sprain your neck trying to see everything. Anyway, a petite green-eyed Russian bombshell with waist length blond hair caught my eye as she danced by the bar. She stared deeply in my eyes throughout the entire song. Then she moved to the next stage and continued to ignore everyone else in the club as she danced. It was absolutely wild. Then she went on the main stage, and promptly broke some hearts with that gorgeous face. A little while later, she gave the best lap dance of my life. At which point, I decided to get a private room. I'm running out of space, so if you want to know what happened next, you better start saving your $$. Trust me, it was worth it!

Pros: Very diverse and talented women

Cons: Costs a lot of $$$
