Sam Flax is still a pretty nifty place

Back in the day, when Sam Flax was on Park Ave, it was a real art shop. Now in new digs, it has de-emphasized the pure art and gone upscale. Pricey, sure. A little snooty. For the real artist and crafter, try Lee's Art Shop on 57th and Broadway. But even so, Flax still carries a unique range of nifty products, and I still shop there. Not as great as it used to be, but still pretty nifty.
