The Scene – Admittedly, this hotel, steeped as it is in old-world elegance, can seem a tad haughty. The lobby is modeled after the Vatican library; it's lavish with hand-loomed rugs, chandeliers and marble friezes taken from the Vanderbilt mansion. The wood-paneled elevators are still manned by white-gloved attendants in full livery. Wonderful !

My daughter and I stayed here during her spring break for just 2 nights, but we wish we could have stayed longer ! Very expensive, but well worth it. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is the price of parking $50 for 24 hrs !!
