The Space
An East Side favorite since 1997, Metamorphosis moved into a sparkling new space in late 2002. The custom-built digs feature spacious treatment facilities, including a couples' massage room, a cozy waiting alcove and comfy pedicure stations.
The Services
There's an array of innovative face and body treatments; services such as the Valentine's Day fave Mint-Chocolate-Chip Pedicure are added seasonally. Facials range from one-hour detoxifying, cleansing and purifying sessions to the heavenly 90-minute "Metamorphosis" facial, which includes two styles of face and shoulder massage, two masks, eye-and-hand treatments and a scalp massage. For the body, try four types of massage, self-tanning, anti-cellulite mud masks or the "Sweet Escape," a smoothing, cinnamon-scented scrub with a creamy mixture of sugar and essential oils, followed by a warm shower. Excellent waxing services, laser hair removal, anti-wrinkle and scar treatments, and nail services are also available.

I moved into the city having left my health care support behind. As I have some chronic health issues, my body work is very important. It took me quite awhile to find Elizabeth; after sustaining an injury to my knee and ankle (made all the worse by the ongoing health problems) I realized I needed a true specialist. She intuitiveness and deep understanding of the body (and how quickly he figured out my body) are found only in a few people. The environment is calming and peaceful, he brings a genuine caring and concentration to her work. In my case, the work has led to a very fast and significant improvement. She's now a part of my routine.

I've been going to Metamorphosis for over 4 years now and I've never once been disappointed. Services are professional and timely, as well as incredibly friendly. The staff makes you feel right at home and greatly cared for. Most importantly- Metamorphosis is so clean, tidy and trendy. I also love their new line: Emerge skin care. I've used many different lines of beauty care in the past, but nothing beats this stuff! My skin has never felt so healthy and strong.
Pros: EVERYTHING IS A PRO! The people, the place, the services, the products, etc.
